Yeah seems like whatever cars I look at, all have some sort of Achilles’ heel. That’s not unexpected though.
CR-Z seems reliable, if a bit slow
Not on my radar at all! Just looked....184bhp so not bad. Doubt I’d choose that over, for instance, a Fiesta ST though.16vCento wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 1:20 pm What about those Velosters, I think they did a turbo one with the same engine as the Ceed GT etcs.
Did the 3 series give up or just not doing it for you?Coaster1 wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 2:43 pmNot on my radar at all! Just looked....184bhp so not bad. I'll mention the n/a Swift again but only 134bhp if your'e looking at the numbers. Weighs less than a tonne though and I'm enjoying it. Newer one is more tuneable being a 1.4t.Coaster1 wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 2:43 pmNot on my radar at all! Just looked....184bhp so not bad. Engine management light on x 2
Those Velosters are funky things.16vCento wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 1:20 pm What about those Velosters, I think they did a turbo one with the same engine as the Ceed GT etcs.
Have you driven one?

Tyres fitted yesterday. Ordered from Black Circles and I paid the extra £8 or whatever to have them fitted at home. It's totally worth it.Sundayjumper wrote: Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:16 am Also new tyres all round ordered for the MINI, to be fitted Thursday. Nothing special but a) new and b) not RFTs. I'm hoping for a noticeable difference from the 6yo P-Zero RFTs that are on there right now.
Who did the fitting - is there a fleet of Black Circles liveried vans doing this? I liked Tyresonthedrive but Halfords bought them so they're not competitively priced any more.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 2:25 pmTyres fitted yesterday. I've not driven the car yet but my wife says it's "less bumpy" now. Seeing as she'd probably drive on a totally flat tyre and not even notice I'm guessing this means it's a huge improvement. I'll take it for a spin later.
It was a bloke from TyreWise, who appear to be a local(ish) independant.Jobbo wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 4:23 pm Who did the fitting - is there a fleet of Black Circles liveried vans doing this?
Do you run the Boxsta on super all the time? Northway (from whom I bought) didn't seem to think it made any difference. I didn't find much odds in terms of power although it did seem to give me a bit more range out of a tank (maybe about 20-30 miles extra).Broccers wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:00 pm Been to Donington today to watch the world superbikes. Fantastic to see some motorsport again even tho they are limited to 4000 people![]()
Running a bit low on fuel coming back popped some v power in - 1 pound 68 a litre. I didn't put too much inThats really expensive.
Yes as I will do everything possible to avoid BORE SCOREExplosive Newt wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:53 pmDo you run the Boxsta on super all the time?
