Game Pass Ultimate

Post by 16vCento »

Has anyone got this on Xbox?

Any recommended games?

I've got a free 3 month Ultimate pass to use that came with my Series X so I may as well try some new games.

It's definitely worth the money.

Assume you want some driving so the Forzas and Snowrunner are worth a look.

What kind of games are you into??

I've got all the Forzas and Snowrunner already annoyingly.

I quite liked Fallout 4 if there's anything like that?

I only really play driving games but I'm bored so happy to try some new genres out.

Is that Cyberpunk game on it? That's supposed to be good I've heard, I think MS FS is coming onto it next month hopefully!

All the Bethesda games are on Gamepass so all the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games.

The older ones are worth playing but they are quite rough compared to the more recent ones. If you just liked wandering around in Fallout, you could try Fallout 76.

Outer Worlds and Control are both worth a look too.

Cyberpunk isn't on it and I'd probably wait until the Series X/S updated version eventually comes out. The current console versions are quite broken.

It's worth just downloading stuff and giving it a go, I end up playing loads of the wee indy games on it just because they look fun. Doesn't cost you anything :)

ETA, flight simulator is coming to it. There are a lot of big games that are going to be on game pass from launch coming up, including Forza Horizon 5 in November.

I saw Titanfall 2 on there, really enjoyed that as a nice short campaign (took me a weekend) with a bunch of fun set pieces with mechs, parkour and gunplay.

The massive RPGs like The Witcher series and Cyberpunk and Fallouts can be very rewarding but the time commitment is huge.

As ever Elite Dangerous is fantastic space flight/fight/**** although the servers are still a bit wonky from the latest DLC release.

Cheers, quite a few decent games to have a go at on it by the sound of things.

Should keep me occupied for a while!

Yeah the size of modern games is bonkers.

I’ve got back into cod over lockdown and the total file size is about 300gb.

Just wait until you start downloading 40gb updates due to the batshit stupid way consoles are programmed

It's mental, taking forever to download as well, and we have Sky Fibre Max!

I haven’t used Xbox in years so don’t know if they’re better but the PS3 and 4 was absolute rubbish for downloading games. Even on gigabit internet it was terrible as Sony limited download speeds greatly due to their crap bandwidth.

You can set you Xbox to download when it's off/standby mode (not fully off). It tends to download a bit quicker that way I've found, just leave the game to download overnight. When I upgraded to the Series X a little while a go, I forgot about having to reinstall all my games. Took 2.5 days! 100gb plus file sizes are never going to be that quick unfortunately.

CoD is a nightmare when they release a new patch as well. It's the biggest game file by far. I've got Modern Warfare and Cold War installed, and both updating at the same time is shite

The Series X is pretty good with downloads tbh. As long as I don’t have a game running I’ll get about 250mbps which is about all my connection will manage.

It also doesn’t do that thing that PlayStation does where you need double the space the download actually needs to install it.

Bit cheeky of MS to only put a 1tb hard drive in it and sell a 2tb expansion though . My CoD install is actually over 400gb now.

My Series X downloads slower than my One, both on same WiFi network.

Glad I got the expansion drive!

It's worth checking you don't have any games still running. Having something like Forza running will drop my speed to 20mbps.
