Today’s want
Re: Today’s want
My dad sent me a link to that 6 series last week. He’s looking for something classic to avoid the ULEZ but that’s a year away from being eligible.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Today’s want
That 928 is lovely. First one I've seen with the same interior colour combination as mine. Nice as it is, it's strong money for an S4 auto. I reckon that's about £5K over. I've seen almost as nice examples go for around the £18-19K range recently. Having said that, it's given me fresh impetus to get mine fully restored as mine's only done 127K and I'm currently into mine for roughly £13K and I doubt I've another £10K to go.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

As much as I love a sharknose BMW. It has to be the 928 for the money I haven't got.

Shark nose for me. And that's in spite of me always having had a soft spot for the 928

Yeah, they’re lovely.

Not sure the exhaust is original. But looks lovely otherwise.

Be careful with that, as something is going on with ULEZ database, which I've not had time to look into. I've just checked my 1968 petrol Land Rover, as I thought I might run it in town for a bit, but since I last checked ULEZ is now charged on it.

Re: Today’s want
How does all that ULEZ crap work (ignorant Northerner here)? I only ask as I was reading a thread on PH about a guy that bought a '93 E31 840i and he got wind he might be able to get it confirmed as exempt. He enquired with BMW to get a Cert of Confirmity which states the NoX on it and sent that off to TfL who confirmed it was compliant or exempt.

Re: Today’s want
Not sure I want this - riding too high and there's a weird picture of the front end with the headlights removed. What's that about?

Re: Today’s want
To show how clean it is presumably?
GTS doesn't sit that high, must be on a slope is it?

Re: Today’s want
A slope that causes both offside wheels to be lower than they should? Not unless it's grounded on the floorpan... Anyway, the other side is also too high:
I wondered if the picture might be to show how well it's been rebuilt after a front impact. There's a lot of paint along the wing/bonnet shutline and the black plastic trim covers under the bonnet have been removed too.

Over zealous detailer or something more sinister. We will never know, unless you ask them

Re: Today’s want
Not sure if the 911 is like the 928 but when my 928 has been jacked up the suspension is high and needs a couple of miles for it to settle, so maybe he's just had the wheels off?

Re: Today’s want
Is that a load of overspray in the headlight trays ?
Re: Today’s want
I thought that as well but it might be residue from polishing too as it looks like little puddles. Would match Mito's theory of an over enthusiastic detailer.

Re: Today’s want
Yeh you can see the detailer (well, his feet) stood to the right of the car with a polishing cloth in one of the shots. That white residue is some form of aerosolized cleaning agent.
