Have you tried to be a little less ‘Rev’ in the recruitment process ??? ;)

As one of the highly skilled migrants that has made a life here I can vouch that the sense of rejection is real. I, and many thousands of others, have made our home here, yet didn't get a vote in the referendum. Britain has definitely been diminished by the vote and the ensuing ugliness.

Had it not been for my family I would have seriously considered leaving.

Can’t pay more if there’s no one to pay it to.

Unzippy is correct. And DJ, I think you’ll find that a lot of the UKIP headbangers view you as the “right sort” of immigrant (rhotacise at will). Their focus (ironically, since most of the originating countries are nowhere near the EU) is on immigrants from, ahem, different cultural backgrounds.

This shitpit of a country is doomed, and we should all be buying canned food and shotgun ammunition.

I've commented this before but my idiotic chav neighbours stated as one of their main reasons for voting to leave was "too many brown kids in the local school".

We should never have been given a decision over this because it's too complicated to be understood by anyone who isn't willing to put in many hours of research and not just read what's on the side of a bus. Soundbites are not something to base your childrens future on.

Aye, one of the things that's amused me most about the whole thing is talking with conservative leavers. They take their usual stance of "whatever I say is rational common sense and you're a flighty idealist if you don't agree" but they're arguing for voting for something based on nothing but hopes and fears. To use one of their favoured terms, the cognitive dissonance is real

So very much this. For once it's not the Left who are the major purveyors of hopey/changey bullshit.

Any decent government, would set out exactly what exit deal they'd offer the EU, before the referendum, so people can make an informed choice.

While I agree with your point, it still feels like rejection, irrespective of whether I'm the right sort or not.

The problem with the headbangers is that you're the right sort, till you're the wrong sort.

Which normally involves several pints, lots of their mates bigging them up, and someone with a 'furren' accent being in earshot.

Sadly you’re not alone, speaking to my other EU friends. I feel embarrassed that this is what our country has become. Many Gammons go on about losing our values and I feel we have lost our values of fair play, compassion, and decency and that’s not because of immigrants.

One of the EU lot today tweeted something along the lines of now Boris and Gove have gone it’s a shame the notion of Brexit hasn’t gone with them. It was in such a way that we’d be welcome back with open arms.

The opportunity is still very much there if we cancelled the whole thing.
