Dogecoin etc
Re: Dogecoin etc
Only just looked at coindesk for a week. Blinking carnage.
Re: Dogecoin etc

Re: Dogecoin etc
My £130 is now worth £101.16 . Should have cashed out at £150 the other day. A £20 gain looks epic at the minute.
I've no idea what I'm doing FWIW. I just bought a couple of coin types and have enjoyed watching how volatile it is. I'm just going to see what happens.
Re: Dogecoin etc
Only bet what you're prepared to lose. That's sound advice. I don't know anyone that's up. The hodl crowd are probably puking every morning on their over leveraged lives.McSwede wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 7:32 pmMy £130 is now worth £101.16 . Should have cashed out at £150 the other day. Crypto is just ridiculous really. I love a bet on the horses and I feel much more confident doing that than bloody crypto. I'm happy to let it play out as it's interesting seeing the ups and downs without having any clue why the fuck it's doing itBroccers wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 7:36 pmOnly bet what you're prepared to lose. Re: Dogecoin etc
I’m still $5000 up but today has been a very bad day indeed, I expect to have lost and won a fortune many times over by the end of the week

I bought another£100 of crypto yesterday including my first few Dogecoin
Re: Dogecoin etc
Just for fun. I have about 30% of my monthly income automatically invested in index and mutual funds within a stocks and shares ISA, which is my main form of investment. My total crypto investment is about £300 and if I make £50 then great, if I lose it all then I can say I was part of this crazy dumb phenomenon.
Re: Dogecoin etc
Have you posted on the gambling thread too?

What do you think of the energy consumption/pollution generated by crypto mining Pete?Pete_ wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 9:33 amJust for fun. Re: Dogecoin etc
I avoid bitcoin now for that reason. The others seem much better in terms of energy use (obviously still 100% wasteful if you believe they offer no utility, but I do think they will provide actual utility in future), but I must confess it's not something I've looked into in great detail.ZedLeg wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 10:23 amWhat do you think of the energy consumption/pollution generated by crypto mining Pete?Pete_ wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 9:33 amJust for fun. Re: Dogecoin etc
It’s a roller coaster, I’ve been up as much as $82,000
My shares on the other hand, despite being purchased at record lows are still £650 down over, my only one doing genuinely wel is Bacanora, which is a Lithium mine I did some reading on.
Crypto is much more fun and not all crypto is equal.

Re: Dogecoin etc
Yeah, I guess that's the thing. I'm not convinced that they'll be any use for anything but speculation at this point. I can't see them ever coming back towards being a useful currency alternative anyway.Pete_ wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 10:38 amI avoid bitcoin now for that reason.
