Rich bloke buys iconic low mileage enthusiast cars, gets even richer when he sells 'em.

Edited to say the 360 CS looks cheap even if it is LHD. Although... "This included new front and rear brakes and pads, at a cost of £11,500 in November 2019" 😳

The Guards Red 996 Turbo doesn't look expensive at £43k.

Some epic motors there, you can't fault the chap/estate for cashing in now.

E28 M5 is probably top of my list.

997 Sport Classic went for £261k.. I had no idea they were that money. Lot of cash over a C2S for what is mainly cosmetics changes.

I thought the same, had no idea Sport Classics were so sought after.

Also holds up hand. I know 911’s can fetch ludicrous money but I don’t remember the Sport Classic being hugely different (and I always thought the spoiler looked really contrived).

Anyone got the mag this month? JB's very funny column explains cars like the Sport Classic's popularity succinctly

Yes, was thinking the same.

And while we're on the topic of this month's mag: when did a 3 series get to two tons? The D3 Alpina (M340d+) is an average adult's weight short of two tons. That's crazy!

To be fair, even my E46 is north of 1500kg, so it didn't have far to go.

That just got me looking. The E91 D3S Touring is listed on Parkers at 1935kg. The E91 335d Touring is listed at 1645kg. WTF are Alpina doing to gain nearly 300kg in practically the same car?

Weights calculated differently?

Yeh - makes absolutely no sense to me. Classic example of a collector car where the only interest is in its rarity.

Particularly so over a mint GTS for £60k which has the power pack engine and widebody of the Sport Classic.

What connection does Harris have to Collecting Cars by the way - does anyone know? He markets pretty aggressively for them on Twitter and I see that he also did a vid for this collection.

He isn't a director from what I can see on Companies house, its Ed Lovett who's family have had dealerships. Harris does the podcast and as you say markets for them heavily..

He will be getting suitably remunerated I suspect, they have made a big splash in the mkt..

My BILs 330 Cab was 1700kg on a weighbridge near his. Ours only reads to the nearest 10kg so presume the same. I can’t remember what fuel he had in it but he wasn’t in the car at the time.

I think Harris is invested in CC; that's how it was described when it launched, though that might just be the impression they wanted to give and he was simply a paid mouthpiece. And it might have changed anyway.

I see PetrolTed who founded PH is a director and apparently a minority shareholder: https://aimgroup.com/2020/10/23/bat-ins ... ay-in-u-k/

Yeah, a bit of google suggests that the kerb weight is 'up to' 1660kg, so throw half a tank of fuel in there and I can see 1700kg being realistic.
