Re: Large estate (car) owners.
Yes, she fits in the front of the Scirocco (for now), it’s when she wants to be on your knee that’s the trouble and that’s even with her seatbelt on.

I also don’t need a 70 kilo dog punching holes in my leather with it’s claws!

Ignoring that my parents' friends had their St. Bernard in the back of an original Mini, you'll not struggle in a Galaxy (or S-Max).

The poo bags must be like bin liners.
Re: Large estate (car) owners.
The poo bags are small bin liners!

Re: Large estate (car) owners.
This is why we have an ML. We tried an E60, E class estate and they are just too low.
Our boy was only 50kg but he was on the tall side. His head rubbed against the roof of estates and it would be no fun for him if he couldn’t look out without craning his neck. Plus he would ruin a headlining doing it.
We got a full washable and water resistant boot liner which also has a flap to cover the bumper. The best thing is the smell seems to stay in the liner as when it was out being washed you couldn’t smell dog at all. On a hot day if you’ve not washed the liner and you could definitely smell it.
You also need a strong tie down point and a proper dog guard. The OEM Merc one was incredibly strong and would protect the dog in an accident.
People carrier or full size SUV unless they lay down all the time.
My friend with 2 Newfie’s who used to have a St Bernard now has a pick-up due to the slobber mess.

The chap I got the V60 off had 2 very large dogs, I wouldn't say its the biggest boot, but they both fit well.

What year is your ML, the early ones are pretty poor are they not?V8Granite wrote: Sun May 16, 2021 4:26 pm This is why we have an ML. We tried an E60, E class estate and they are just too low.

Ours is a W164 model, 2006 but you can get some 2005 models. We found the climate control makes a big difference too as on hot days we can set the back nice and cool.Zonda_ wrote: Sun May 16, 2021 4:31 pmWhat year is your ML, the early ones are pretty poor are they not?V8Granite wrote: Sun May 16, 2021 4:26 pm This is why we have an ML. Also, we had a good packing set up so we could go away for a week with the dog and the family with nothing in the passenger compartment. As you want the dog to be able to move about on longer drives.
