Just posted a new blog on the McLaren Senna after having owned it now for 2 years:

Do you believe the Senna will be a future classic?
McLaren Senna: 2 Years of Ownership
Re: McLaren Senna: 2 Years of Ownership
The Senna certainly ticks all the boxes for me to be presumptuously predudiced against it.
The contrast of parking one (even in that lovely blue) next to the iconic F40 couldn't be starker.
Its obsessive prioritisation of racing car aping air management over "styling" may or not, stand the test of time.
Could the Countach debate become the Senna debate in 20years, "Better with or without wing/s?"
As for the future classic question, it's hard to find anything analogous.
911 RS' were for a time unloved hardcore spinoffs but nowhere near as extreme as the Senna, neither was the bonkers for the time Diablo SE30.
Lotus 340R? Compromised both in usability and aesthically, there's one for sale at 60% over its list price which in the current environment is maybe a touch underwhelming?

Unlikely as the wing is an integral part of the design not an after market option.RobYob wrote: Tue Apr 27, 2021 10:11 am

Re: McLaren Senna: 2 Years of Ownership
Interesting read.
I imagine it is blisteringly capable on road, which can only be admirable, but yeah it’s a bit like Predator to look at.

Well it does easily hunt down anything on the road in front of it

When you started describing the driving experience of the Senna, some of the stuff you said immediately made me think of the F40.
How are values & demand for the Senna looking now in comparison with what you paid for it?

Demand is actually pretty high. My guess is if I had to sell it would be a break even proposition at this point.Ascender wrote: Tue Apr 27, 2021 2:17 pm When you started describing the driving experience of the Senna, some of the stuff you said immediately made me think of the F40.
