I think the problem there is purely down to the Stella.

I’m actually still here but my parents left this morning and the beast is hidden away in its own accommodation and I have no idea where the fob is to operate the roller door (I suspect this is not accidental)



Slightly frustrating thing is we’re oop north so my folks place is only worth a little more than my 3 bed terrace in South London. Needless to say I’m hoping remote working becomes a permanent fixture...

My garage is too narrow for modern cars (2.65m). Can get a car in, but can't actually get out especially with big doors. My driveway is on a slight slope, so pushing isn't an option as I don't want to Brian Harvey myself. Thinking about bolting a winch to the floor - seems like a cheap option and wouldn't need much to pull a ton. Anyone done anything else for this?

That's the same internal width as my garage. If you are considering future cars a Cayman fits and allows a (fairly agile) 67 year old to get out.

Problem with Lotus is they have huge doors and sills. The Elise was fine because, as mentioned above, you can just climb out the roof. Fixed roof alternatives like the Evora don't have that option.
I do like the Cayman...I've always been tempted. But not sure I could ever buy one over an Evora.....at least not until I could afford a GT4.

Push it out - with gravity in my favour - but still attached to the winch to stop it ending up in the front room of my facing neighbour.

Sound ideal. You could add a hook to the centre of the garage ceiling and use the winch as some sort of sex swing as well

All you need is some bungee rope, drive in to garage and attach, reverse out again, get out of car, knock out of gear, handbrake off and a gentle nudge and it let the bungee rope do the work to get back in the garage.
