Re: Coronavirus
Had my AZ jab on Friday. Felt awful Friday evening and most of Saturday.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

My mate and his wife were similar, seems to be more common than they let on.Delphi wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 1:11 pm Had my AZ jab on Friday. Felt awful Friday evening and most of Saturday.
Re: Coronavirus
Feeling a bit rough after a vaccine is to be expected. As the doctor guy said earlier in the thread, the vaccine is making your immune system work to build a resistance. This will make you feel run down.
An absolute unit

Re: Coronavirus
I'm well aware of that yes, but the various commentators who look at the Zoe app and other data were suggesting it was 10% getting these symptoms, where it seems to be a much higher %, anecdotally. Makes no odds, its still better than getting Covid of course, I'm not suggesting otherwise.ZedLeg wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 2:37 pm Feeling a bit rough after a vaccine is to be expected. Re: Coronavirus
Younger people tend to get more symptoms, because you have a more punchy immune system - I wonder if the low reported symptoms up to now is just because mostly older people have been jabbed?
There was also a paper a while ago where they found that people who had previously had covid had a more aggressive immune response to vaccination (and more symptoms) as the immune system has seen it before. Could be that some of these people getting side effects now are folk who had it, mildly or asymptomatically?

Yep, my parents felt like crap again after being vaccinated (mum had AZ, dad had Pfizer) pretty much the same symptoms as Corona for 2-3 days.duncs500 wrote: Fri Mar 26, 2021 9:57 amExplosive Newt wrote: Fri Mar 26, 2021 8:17 am

Re: Coronavirus
My mum has just had the Oxford one and she was in bed ill all weekend, she's 55 and said it's a bit like having flu and her arm aches.
Chap at work is the same and he's just gone 50.
I reckon they've both had it as I think I gave them it last February

Re: Coronavirus
I'm now 24hrs on from my Oxford AZ jab and other than a slightly sore upper arm I've been fine. Wife is the same. We were prepared for feeling shit but it's been fine FWIW.16vCento wrote: Fri Mar 26, 2021 10:54 am My mum has just had the Oxford one and she was in bed ill all weekend, she's 55 and said it's a bit like having flu and her arm aches.

Re: Coronavirus
None of my family have had any issues, only a couple of mates have had it, but no issues there either. I imagine it's the ones who felt shit are the ones who are (fair enough) shouting about it!

You'll be over it in 24 hours. Paracetamol and ibuprofen and power on through is my advice!

Re: Coronavirus
I woke up yesterday with a text inviting me to book my jab. 2 hours later I was pricked.
It's been a hard couple of weeks for my left arm. My hand is mostly a bruise, I've got a new and achey scar from minor surgery on my wrist two weeks ago, the nurse used a hammer to take my blood to check on my thyroid levels and the top of my arm hurts from the jab.
I've also got the fatigue and fever side effects.
Hurrah for modern medicine!

Re: Coronavirus
A couple of people at work who have had it have had to have a day off because they didn’t fancy operating heavy machinery. They were the people most likely to be off ill with anything else that’s going around at any other time of year.
90% of people I know who’ve had it haven’t had anything more than a headache, minor chills and slightly aching arm.

Re: Coronavirus
I had mine on Friday morning (AZ) after receiving the invitation text on Thursday afternoon - I (45 yo) was suprised to get it and was expecting not to get anything before late-April/early May, so they really seem to be cracking on. Following the jab I felt ok all day until about 11pm when I started to feel a bit rough, a bit like mild manflu, so went to bed early and felt ok the following morning. A mate of similar age had his on Saturday and reported similar side effects only a bit worse, but again ok by the morning. His Mrs had it at the same time as him and was fine, go figure
I also now have great 5G reception.
