Noble M500

I have always been intrigued by the brand and really like the M600, but at the £200k mark it’s way beyond any reality.

Some idle automotive spaffling with @scotta lead is to the Noble website where I see an M500 isn’t far away.

“The M500 is due for release sometime in late 2021 and will feature a Ford 3.5L twin turbo engine. Price and final specification is yet to be announced, however we are hoping to release the car with a far lower price tag than the fully hand-built bespoke Noble M600.”

They don’t mention that it’s a V6 but it is, and crucially it will come with a Graziano 6-speed Manuel box.

I can’t afford a £6-figures vehicle, but really keen to see the outcome.

Slight concern about the "hoping" bit. You'd think they'd have a quite solid idea of what they are targeting it at.

I like the front and profile view. I've always been a Noble fan. An M12 is still on the list of reasonably priced cars that I really love but will probably never buy.

Quite possibly doomed from the start though. Six figures in these times for a non-hybrid/EV performance car that has no badge appeal for a lot of people. Hope it sees the light of day though.

I haven't kept track of what will or won't be allowed under low volume regulations. Wonder what the future is for Noble, Ariel, Caterham etc.

I’m the other way. I always thought the older Nobles looked like kit cars but the M600 has a nice simplicity. It looks purposeful.

I drove a gto3r and really liked it. Felt like a kit car tho which I guess it was. I think they were about 45kish?

200k is a lot of money for Noble.

I like the looks, and the 3.5v6 is a tried and tested route. Good luck to them.

That looks quite small aswell unless it has huge alloys. Fingers crossed it gets a good reception!!

M600 is 662bhp (and 1198kg), so yeah - I would expect the M500 will have at least 500.

This car is a victim of working from home. The designer of the first 2/3rds didn't speak to the one making the back end. They seem to have had one Zoom meeting where they then just mashed the 2 together. Dear god...

I kept thinking it looks like a Corvette kit car, just checked that the front lights are from a C7. Can't place the rears though. Did Gordon Murray say a set of custom lights costs over £10 million or am I imagining things again?

Gordon Murray put bus lights on the back of the McLaren F1. Probably because of that. Google suggests Elan lights at the front because Chapman had already planed the covers down to nowt

That's not a joke.

Anyway, the last of the line Diablos had 300ZX front lights; if there's a design out there that works, has been test and internationally approved, and suits the design why would you spend £100,000s developing your own cluster?

Further edit: I can see regular halogen clusters (IE like wot you see on an old Ford Puma or the like) being expensive enough - so literal millions on a modern HID/LED/Laser platform with the need for self levelling and cleaning systems honestly doesn't seem outlandish.
