Feb21 6Nations Fred
Feb21 6Nations Fred
Is there one already?
If not - there is now.
Currently on a family zoom call watching Scotland-England game. Which is a bit weird as we can’t have the telly sound up too far.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Cracking game. Steve Tandy has done wonders with your defence structure,.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
That's worrying. A Scotland team that can score Try's from their own 22 but can also see a game out* and good defensive structure.
*Still a bit loose trying that drop goal lol

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Yeah, well played Scotland. Battered us to be fair.
Can they do the same thing against the other teams? We'll see, usually they're not bothered as long as they beat England.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
They beat Wales in November and were much more clinical then. Seems like it wasn't a one off
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
It's funny that they're making a big deal about the first win at Twickenham for 38 years. Pretty meaningless without fans, as of last weekend (I'm not totally up to date) it was 52% away wins in the Premier league this season, versus thirty something usually. Fans make a significant difference.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
It's a definite leveller but that's a settled England Squad that was odds on winners.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I wasn’t expecting that result.
Finn Russell remains a nob though.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
In normal circumstances, at Murrayfield Scotland win this game, at a neutral venue Scotland win this game, at a full Twickenham I'm not so sure. However, you can only beat what's in front of you, so well deserved.
It won't be the last surprise result if fan-less venues are in place for the whole tournament (which they should be). In normal years, you look at who is at home and you can usually figure out who's favourite, this year is anyone's guess.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I'd be quite happy if Scotland won the tournament, they have played some great stuff over the last five years or so, but just couldn't seem to get the results they deserved. It would be nice for them to pick up the trophy for the first time in a long time.
Stuart Hogg alone deserves it TBH for all his class over the years.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Missed it sadly - sounded like it was a good one.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I wouldn't say it was a great game for a neutral. Scotland dominated but couldn't convert, England never got going. It never really felt like one of those epic contests. I don't recall Scotland ever having to defend any real fight from England actually.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I grew up on the 5 Nations as my Dad grew up in the Borders. I got fed up of watching Scotland snatch defeat from the jaws of victory or the usual "Played brilliantly for 70 minutes....."
Good that they are able to grind out a result and there are undoubtedly some decent talent in the squad.
Will doff my cap to Toony and John when I see them in the village.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I've had a few so not sure if Wales made hard work of that or Ireland played a blinder.
Anyway. A wins a win and onto Jockland.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Didn't manage to watch today. Good win though.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I thought Wales were very controlled today. Very solid in defence. Soaked up pressure well and didn’t panic.
A LOT of concussions and HIA’s though...

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Ireland actually looked fairly handy today I thought, and I usually find them underwhelming. I'd actually say Wales did well to win that one. Which is a good thing for Wales because since Gatland left they've been looking bloody terrible. Today represented a marked improvement for them I thought.

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
I missed the 2nd half. Wales looked dominant in the 1st but I did enjoy that Ireland try.
Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Its great to have something to look forward to but i should have been flying to Edinburgh today
Wales haven't lost twice in a row to Scotland since 2002/03 but with 5 of our starting 15 from last week injured i suspect Scotland are favourites given recent form

Re: Feb21 6Nations Fred
Definitely the Six Nations being back on feels a bit more like normal life for some reason. Shame you're not going Carlos.
Sorry to say I'd actually quite like Scotland to win it this year, so I'll be supporting them in all their remaining games. They've given us a lot of fight and entertainment in the recent past so it would be great for them to lift the trophy.
Edit - Plus it would give Scottish rugby a lift that could help them be competitive for the next generation.
