996 booked in for its MOT next week. It has done a grand total of 102 miles since last year, and 1.5 of those were driving it home from the MOT place

Scimitar all back together, with an original air filter now instead of the naff "performance" thing that was on there before.

Packaging I believe. Originally the car would have had two six-volt batteries in series. Two modern twelve-volt batteries in parallel gives a lot of OOMPH! for starting.

Radio is playing up again, which is really annoying. Have ordered a new used one. Hopefully that'll fix it. Getting the cluster out and replaced is a lot more faffy.

Yes, exactly the same. Only started doing it in the last week.

Moisture ingress on the (as I recall) bits your resoldered?

It's been a damp few weeks - and since I've been running the air con in the car with the door card off, my lock problems have disappeared....

That said if you have to pull the dash apart regardless I suppose it makes little difference to the annoyance of it.

Not impossible, but have no obvious condensation inside.

Will see what happens

When I was looking over the ML last month I noticed one of the bonnet release cables was losing the rubber on its sheath due to rust.

Found a second hand one on ebay for a good price and swapped it all over.

Exciting times.

Things moving on a bit either than originally anticipated..

A weeping PAS hose has been spotted, plus seeing as the lots coming out will powder coat various bits and pieces whilst there, and give the chassis a good clean up whilst the lump is out.

Seeing as the box is out going to have a look at the clutch as there’s always been a slight noise when pulling away.

Watch this space 😂

Looks like an aftermarket exhaust. Is is louder than stock or did someone just put (presumably cheaper?) non OEM side boxes on?

Dansk boxes yeah, they sound great, replaced before I got the car .. I had a K&N on it but prefer the sound without it tbh, there is another airbox tweak that does away with the helmholtz, will see.

The '6 C4S is probably the best sounding non GT 996/7 anyway so not really worth fiddling with!
