At least the vaccine gives us a reason to be optimistic for an actual end to this. I do think its been tougher because of the time of year this time around, hopefully a bit better weather and some relaxing of the rules in March will spread a bit of cheer.

My best mate was drinking cider by 1 today trying to work and help school his 3 kids

I’m back home tomorrow, I predict I’ll spend 5 minutes doing phonics with them and then do a project putting 12v lights and a charging set up in the shed. They can write that up and send that to their teachers instead.

So you've been reading the threads too - you can't even flounce properly!

No one has even mentioned you since leaving - even when we were talking about people who've left! 😂

it was his New Years resolution - he said he wasn't going to post here again and no one batted an eyelid.

Damn, missed the flounce too. :(

Shame about Capt Tom. You do wonder if he would have been out and about less if it wasn't for his new found fame, and may not have caught it. Still, he's had a good innings and a great year.

It wasn't much of a flounce - just a post to say he wasn't posting here again, everyone ignored it and happily carried on. Then predictably he came back.

That free christmas trip to Barbados probably didn't help.

if I got to 100 I reckon I'd gladly see it out with a trip with my family to Barbados rather than bloody lockdown. Sad news though.

Haven't seen about that, seems an unnecessary risk for sure. Although may have been a life highlight for someone who may not have lived much longer anyway. I'm sure he went with his eyes open.

Odd how his entire family (as reported) were allowed to be with him in hospital.

He was gone for the whole of Jan ? Wow.

I’d rather have Rev back, tbh. Can we do a swap somehow ?

Yeah, I agree. Seemed reckless of BA to offer international flights as a gift considering where we are just now I guess.

Under the rules they were allowed, no issue with that. Whether that was right or wrong with regards to him becoming ill is probably never going to be known.

He did a great job and probably inspired lots of other money making helpers so he did something truly worthwhile.

I’m not knocking the family btw, they obviously took the opportunity for a trip they might not have been able to have otherwise.

It’s the rules that are dumb. International travel is fine but you can’t go to the pub. There’s no consistency.
