Noticed some moisture underneath my garage door yesterday. Opened the door and pulled the Porsche out to find this

Image

It was originating from the trans-axle. Looks like a seal has gone and it's leaked gearbox oil all over the garage floor. Waiting for a recovery lorry to come and take it down to Strasse.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Balls.

If you don’t already have something, soaking up the majority with an old towel and then using this stuff clears up oil spills very well.

You can't be that far away from me then @Delphi?

Is Strasse your closest Porsche specialist?

Would love a look around the 928 once its allowed again, I still miss my 924 😑

Ordered gear linkage cables from EliseShop on the 4th...They have not arrived due to dpd fucking up the import documentation. Instead of sorting it out they have just shrugged and are sending the package back to EliseShop. Brexit is awesome. I fucking love it...

The flipping seats in the back of those are genius. Almost as useful as Honda magic seats.

My Honda is back on the battery conditioner so I don't kill it, and SORNed again. Probably going to be a couple of months before it gets used again, and I'd rather have the 40-odd quid in my pocket.

Yes, very clever. Still, I couldn't quite believe it was wide enough - its almost as if they used a wooden pallet as the design brief as it was millimetre perfect

I guess Smart, Honda et al. are all really lifting the idea from the original Espace which I think was (at lease one of) the first with that sort of thing.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Morley. Strasse is about 10 minutes away. You're more than welcome to pop round and have a look when all this madness is over.

Annoyingly, I was going to take next week off to sort a few jobs that need doing on it, but Strasse won't be able to look at it until the end of the week at the earliest, so it'll have to wait a few more weeks.

@mik Cheers, Mik I'll get some ordered and try and get it all cleaned up.

I'm in East Morton, probably about half an hour away, there's quite a few of us within about 30 minutes of each other up here I think.

Me, you, @Beany, @McSwede?

Sounds like a plan! Not seen Beany in years, even though we now live not far from each other.

Yeah, I'm am antisocial cunt at the best of times but work is killing me, time and finances wise at the moment. If I've got the money for fuel at the time, consider me generally up for it.

Yes indeed!! I'm the far side of Harrogate from you but distance is no boundary to me and I'm desperate for a good spank out in my car!

Galaxy MOT, flying colours, etc.

Replaced the battery while it was in for the service.

Mechanic called about an hour after dropping off the car and wanted to come collect it again. He wasn't sure if he had checked the tyre pressures, so wanted to do that.

Can't fault his service!

Bought a cheap no plate on eGhey for the Touring.

Also bought all the arms for the rear 4S suspension.

Motorhome passed the MOT today. First time I've started the engine since early October and it fired up first turn. We've covered 1200 miles in it over the last year, I was surprised it was that high as the furthest we've been was a trip to the lakes last January. In a normal year we do around 4000 miles.

From what I read they seem to be the default ‘upgrade’ for the Carrera 2/4 and 4S

Really ? That’s the internet for you. I’ve had no issues with them. Have you done the gearbox front mount too ? Powerflex do an insert to fill in the voids in the factory bush, tightens it up a bit.
