Collection day is looking like Thursday or failing that Friday this week! I’ll report back on a hopefully incident free journey from Peterborough to Glasgow (potentially via the A702 Moffat to Edinburgh road, weather depending).

I’m casting my mind back to the test drive of the grey one a few weeks ago and the lasting impression is the delicacy of the controls and chassis (especially the steering) and the savage acceleration just a tiny ankle flex away. It will be interesting finding out how it makes me feel over a long journey.

Silly question, but I thought there were some restrictions on getting into Scotland at the mo?

Physically: no, there’s nothing at the border, I have removal vans crossing many times weekly
Legally: not sure, I guess you’re allowed to drive a car you’ve bought home
Ethically: probably not

The Attack-Haggis are trained to smell Englishness. So long as the interior has been wiped down to remove the previous owners scent - Pete will pass through undetected.

Those Attack-Haggi are not to be underestimated.

This indicates I’m now an honorary Scotsman Mik?! I’m flattered. (26 of my 36 years spent here, still sound like I got on the wrong train at Kings Cross)

I can’t judge that Pete - that’s down to the A.H. to assess.

Isn't the A702 just the straightforward route from the M74 to Edinburgh? It's the route I always take. IIRC Nef's fun route is to get off the M74 earlier and use the A701.

ETA: but the A701 goes to Moffat, so is probably the road you're talking about :)

Ah yes that’s right. I know the route when I’m there, just not the road name - clearly

The A701 from Moffat to Penicuik is a great bit of road. The bit going up around the Beef Tub just outside moffat is particularly good.

On my first trip to Scotland, not long after I moved here (with my Irish Reg'd car), I was told by a local that they train the Wasps to only Sting the English...

Come off motorway at Moffat and take the A708 to Selkirk.

You have to pick your time with the A708. Get it wrong and you're stuck in tourist traffic for the gray mare's tail.

I guess this won’t be a problem at the moment, so I’ll definitely check this out tomorrow all being well, thanks!

Please do. EVO used it in ECOTY this year and have a few times previous. It's a lovely road!
