I wonder if that's confidential information and outlined as such in our contract with AZ. She's fvcking dangerous. She has all the hallmarks of a fine EU leader.

Here’s a thought - instead of Sturgeon granting the people of Scotland another independence referendum, how about Boris gives the rest of us a vote on whether we want to fuck Scotland out of the Union??? ;) :D

Picked up from elswhere:

"The Australian now reporting:

Pfizer may switch manufacturing of its coronavirus vaccine to the US in order to fulfil supply agreements, as the pharmaceutical giant warned EU export restrictions could disrupt global supply, including 10 million doses earmarked for Australia."

The EU have really fucked this up haven't they? I was giving them some slack after Brexit but actually this is showing them to be a proper mess. Interesting that early on the Government were criticised for not electing to take part in the EU vaccine purchase program.

Aside from the issue of failing your own citizens and now pissing off other nations by threatening to withold supplies, yeah I would imagine big pharma are giving serious consideration as to where they'd like to locate their production faciltiies in future.

So EU have released the contract to back up their argument, and all I can see is "best and reasonable efforts". I'm a bit confused, isn't that what AZ said?

Now it looks like they're going to block exports, is that even legal?

Do you think they didn’t commit early to the vaccines as they either didn’t want to be seen to back ones the U.K. had backed? Or that they thought they could bully the manufacturers into getting what they wanted afterwards ?

We went through loads of contract shenanigans on this little
Power station and my thinking now is unless something is specifically written into a contract, you have no hope.

Isn't this a bit dumb though in terms of AZ? AFAIK the primary manufacturing facilities are in the UK, so there's probably more going out of the UK than going in...

If the UK goes tit for tat and prevents exports, we're probably end up with more doses (of the AZ one at least).

These bullyboy tactics are no surprise to me, having seeing at second hand, through family and friends, how they behaved following Ireland's Bailout in 2008. All concern, altruism etc went out the window. They kicked down the front door and told the Irish people exactly how they were going to help, what would be prioritised and exactly when it would be paid back.

AZ have a plant in Aus. Its the pfizer Aus doses that stand to be affected.

In yet another display or ineptitude or arrogance or both, the EU have managed to publish a redacted PDF with all of the redacted text still included in the bookmarks...
