Amazing drumming

My current favourite drummer

His main band is these guys but he’s done session work with loads of people.

Zach Hill is a madman too, love drummers who can make a lot of noise with a stripped down kit.

In this vid the guy goes some way into explaining what Carey's doing. I can follow it for so long and then I just start dribbling in confusion

The YouTube comments on that kind of summed it up for me. I have no clue about drumming but the way he explained and showed the bits of it was awesome.

I always loved to tap along to this track - one hand doing the bass drum and the other doing the block thing (not a drummer - don’t know official name). It took a while before I got it for exactly the reasons mentioned in that vid - hands moving in time than out of time. Reminded me of the first time I played Kraftwerk The Model On a keyboard.

The above is like tapping along to this track whilst playing another song with your feet.... amazing.

I’ve always been a big fan of Brain Dailor from Mastodon. He really drives the sound of the band

I've never really been a Springsteen fan and only know his really big hits, but I've enjoyed his last couple of albums and am starting to get in to his back catalogue. Picked up his new album on vinyl today and its a cracker, must check out the Apple TV documentary about it too.

The Pink Floyd rabbit hole I'm disappearing down is also vast, as is the Queen one.

you can save yourself an awful lot of time if you start with Meddle and work forward from there. (#controversial)

(although "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is the best Album title of all time)

I'm loving the new UNKLE track and have ordered the remix album its from.

The original score from Her by Arcade Fire and Owen Pallett arrives today.

With work I've been listening to a lot of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross as usual - their scores for Mank and Soul are pretty amazing and so different that its quite a comparison.

I've started to try some Neil Young - he's one of those artists who has passed me by in the past.

Scottish rock band Mason Hill released their debut Against the Wall - I've really enjoyed it for some old school rock.
