It's true. I'm sure my E39 had the best door-closing-thunk of any car I've owned.

Mechanic had a look at the oil leak but can't see where its originating from as its just too wet today. His apprentice learned a valuable lesson today about where a Boxster's engine is though as he had the car running for 15 minutes trying to defrost all the ice & snow on the front bonnet....

Had some good and sensible sideways fun on the drive home, but the state of some of the main roads is shocking and I barely made it up the hill to the house.
Cheers,

Mike.

Absolutely and a B10 3.3 is still totally on my lottery list.
Maybe not with a quarter million miles though

E39 door shut was far too soft compared to an E34. Southern poofters.

I loved ours. It was a lovely thing to drive around in. Shame the wife wrote it off!

Pretty sure my cambelt idler bearing just what itself and took the cambelt with it. One dead Defender.

Will get it recovered home and then decide what to do once I’m back from work in 3.5 weeks :(

Good news. Know the feeling about costs, mine's finally being trailered to the paint shop this week. Bodywork not a cheap business as there's so much you may as well do 'while you're there'

Bummer, but swapping in a good s/h engine should be fairly quick & easy ?

A week ago I could have sold you a Touareg ;)

There are no good second hand 200tdis about sadly, I’d rather rebuild it and take my time. Maybe aim for the giddy heights of 150hp and a bigger turbo

They've been great tbh, it's taken a while, partly due to me and partly due to a few delays their side, but they've organised all of it and the rates I've paid have been competitive. As I said before thanks for the recommendation!

Looking forward to getting it back though, I'd at least like the option of taking a car with a heater and proper roof to work rather than my bike 😁

Jag picked up, its very lovely 😎

Really need to watch your speed in it though, I'm used to a T5 with a open air filter and a 3 inch turbo back exhaust wailing and fluttering away whereas the Jag is almost completely silent.

Also got camera van papped on the way to pick it up in the Volvo, not sure how painful it will be, as I don't know how fast I was going.

3 cars were sat behind a tractor for 4 sodding miles, coming out of Wetwang I saw my chance, and nailed it past all of them, right towards the camera van 😂

Let's see what the post brings!
