They may have been going down due to the sufferers having got on trains to the rest of the country
:D

I think my point is that yes, they should've kept schools and unis closed, but there's an argument that you didn't need full lookdown as numbers were falling since about 30/12, whereas Tier 4 was introduced before Christmas, ergo it was clearly having an effect.

The solution would've been to have put all areas into Tier 4 and kept schools and unis closed across the country and I suspect that would've been enough.

Closing education seems to have been the biggest hurdle - look at the same graphs and you can see ramping up through September and then October as the schools and universities went back.

We have nearly a year of data and knowledge of this virus; we know how it spreads and yet the government seems utterly incapable of addressing that without causing it to be broadcast across the country and between households first.

I think everybody knows that schools going back has been one of the main reasons for the transmission increases. I don't know how BoJo can keep saying schools are 'safe', transmission in schools in unavoidable.

How you deal with the impacts of them being closed for an extended period of time is the difficult bit I suppose.

Well no one is paying attention to lockdown, roads are just as busy as they always are. Down to 40mph on the M6, nearby roads have usual heavy traffic. Was hoping for a easy trip into work, but guess everyone is just cracking on.

Same here in the Wolds.

ETA - though I do like making the old fuckers dive out of the way on my runs. Just give a few grunts and they soon shift

I hope you stopped each and every one of them and grilled them if their excuse for being out was as good as yours!

Roads around here were quieter on Monday than they have been the last couple of days. All seems pretty normal unlike the first one.

Still mainly old people in micras, jazzes and fiestas getting in my way plodding among at 42mph.

It was pretty fucking quiet in Pudsey when i was pootling aboot earlier sorting a few days food out.

Be interesting to see how long that lasts.

Because I will see it. Because we're not working from home.

I have updated my CV now at least....

Train into London, and central London itself are very quiet, but roads from the station to home last night were busy as ever.

Well Beany, I'd hope a few days food lasts a few days. With what's going on in the world at the moment we don't need extra frayed nerves by worrying about this cliffhanger. 😜
