The plugs in the sill seem to be a modified design with a drain hole already built in, and the a/c drain is on the passenger side (and is bone dry). And there's no sunroof.
Beany - you got those Swan Vestas handy ? Although ironically, if the car's full of water it probably won't burn properly
Re: Your fleet running reports
Don't be daft. Get a fuckton of silica gel, throw the car under a tarp to keep the rain out, once it's dry, hoover it, polish the exterior, sell it sold as seen.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 7:43 pmNope.Nic wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 2:55 pm Common issue, drain holes in the sill and air con drain in the footwell. And it if doesn't sell, it'll be dry enough to break out the jerrycan and a box of Swan Vestas

Hmm, meh, leave it until the summer and then it'll be dry anyway ?Beany wrote: Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:37 am Don't be daft. Get a fuckton of silica gel, throw the car under a tarp to keep the rain out, once it's dry, hoover it, polish the exterior, sell it sold as seen.
Update - MINI provisionally sold, to be collected Saturday.
Update update - Touareg not sold yet but a bloke is coming all the way from Plymouth (a 3 hour drive each way) to look at it and I doubt he’ll want to go home empty handed.

Misses Touran has had a spate of leaks. POS
Leaves block draining holes in scuttle panel by wipers and it over flows.
Roof bar seals go and leaks down seatbelt column
Sure there are many more to come.

Cheers, Well, I only have one brand so that could be useful. I can't remember if my old one does any of that fancy shizzle.16vCento wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 10:03 pm Unless its a proper all module code reader just remember you won't get any codes other than EOBD ones.
My Autel one is very good, they're 50 quid off amazon and can do epb resets, suspension pressurise/depressurise, read all modules.
Its bluetooth as well and seems to auto turn off so you can leave it in.
You get one brand for free and for unlimited time, can add others for 20 quid a year if needed.
Edit; this one

320D just had its first service after 19000 miles. £270 (after 10% discount) for an oil and filter change, I miss not having a service pack. There's a M2 CS sitting outside the forecourt. IMO, it doesn't look like a £89k car.

£90k for a 1-Series ? What a world we live in.
Except it's not £90k ! It's only £xxx per month ! As long as you do less than 27 miles per year and ignore the crippling balloon payment.

It's funny how things have changed. The actual cost of a car is pretty meaningless now, it's all the monthlys.Sundayjumper wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 11:36 am £90k for a 1-Series ? What a world we live in.

I was half-jokingly talking about slapping £30k down on a car at the Christmas dinner table, queue everyone asking how I can afford £30k - by people who own £30k cars (but leased/PCP).
Re: Your fleet running reports
£90k WTF. I’m assuming there’s haggling room but that’s mental.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Although to be fair, you could argue that list price or purchase price is a meaningless figure. The real cost is the difference between purchase and what it's worth when you come to sell it. And that's where leasing is able to give you some certainty by putting that into the background and giving you a monthly figure that's fixed for a fixed duration.Matty wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:16 pm It's funny how things have changed. New vehicle purchased
2012 XFS 3.0d.
Its very different to the S60! I've driven quite a few XF's, but never the facelift with the 8 speed box, and it's a particularly high spec one.
Adaptive Dampers, AFS bi xenon lights, 1200w Bowers and Wilkins sound system, DAB, DVD, Video input, 18 way adjustable heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, 20 inch wheels.
Its a lovely car, 65k on it, full jag service history, cambelt was done last December as well which is a big expense out the way.
Surprised by how quick it feels, throttle feels quite a bit keener than they normally do, it certainly feels all of its 275 hp.
The only diesel car I've ever had was the Discovery, and that picked up quite well, but didn't really keep pulling to the redline, this does!
It really wakes up when you boot it, at any speed. No lag with the twin turbos, and the power is still there past 4k.
I Sometimes forget how old the autobox in the Volvo is, by the time the Volvo thought about kickdown this would be off up the road!
The 8 speed box is superb, very quick acting, especially in sport mode.
It certainly isn't a winter weather car though, its on Dunlops all round, which are decent in the summer, but clearly not when its minus 1, any of the first 3 gears just yielded the traction control light
Heated steering wheel is nice too, never had that before!
Picking it up next Saturday

Sounds All The Nice.
Not to piss on yer chips, but how do you feel about knocking on ten year old adaptive dampers? I've thought about this idly over the last few years as they get more and more common, and they still ain't cheap to replace - and if one blows, it's either pay through the nose for a replacement, or pay through the nose to replace the whole system with passive shocks, surely?
Or is my experience of complete fucking sheds tainting me on this one?

Re: Your fleet running reports
15 years and 132k miles on the Touareg, 8 years and 126k miles on the 740d, all working fine and there's nothing to tell me they've been replaced in the past. I replaced the front air springs on the Touareg because of a leak but that's separate to the damper.Beany wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 1:46 pm ...how do you feel about knocking on ten year old adaptive dampers?
More likely to need miscellaneous bushes etc or get weird engine electrical gremlins IMO.

Re: Your fleet running reports
The adaptive dampers on the faster mitos are about £900 each. If I had one and they broke I’d stick a £600 set of coilovers on!Beany wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 1:46 pm Sounds All The Nice.

Its got a Jaguar Extended Warranty so I'll be covered if anything does go wrong, the Dampers on them are pretty much bulletproof though.

£90k m2?
No thanks, I think I’d be buying a £50k normal one, get a remap, stick on some aftermarket suspension and wheels!

Re: Your fleet running reports
I’m surprised that there’s quite a few popping up on dealer forecourts considering how they were pretty exclusive. 1 or 2 per dealer when my dad enquired years ago iirc with each dealer having 10+ interested parties. Can’t all have cancelled due to covid.
How about not having a sig at all?
