Bye Bye Boris!
Re: Bye Bye Boris!
I think you mean 90% of this country hoped this day would come, whatever their political leanings. There was no need to leave it until Christmas Eve and it’s still not certain.Broccers wrote: Thu Dec 24, 2020 10:59 amNot at all. There was a glimpse of hope from the left remain this day would not come to fruition.
I hope they use their brains to support their country from now on.
Any idea how you bill your EU clients when you’re back at work on 4 Jan, Broccers?

Then please explain how you see the right has supported the country over the last five years and especially since the pandemic started.
Here's a few things to ponder to help you formulate an answer:
In the light of government policies applied and compared to the time before the referendum, what
- is better for the country?
- has been gained? Be specific and detailed
- cost/benefit analysis (or other valid method) have you applied to arrive at your conclusion?

I'm actually shocked someone of my age has a decent education and has been tainted with the left. It's well documented that all kids are brought up to support labour these days but it's amazing that Kier is a conservative.

If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Re: Bye Bye Boris!
You’re celebrating a trade deal with the EU, yes? Forgive me for misinterpreting your posts over the last 4 years but I thought you were opposed to this outcome. Given that we left the EU nearly a year ago, I’m pleased with the deal too. Are you trying to create an argument out of nothing?Broccers wrote: Thu Dec 24, 2020 12:26 pmI'm actually shocked someone of my age has a decent education and has been tainted with the left. Not sure why being pro-EU is seen by you as left-wing, when Corbyn was famously pro-leave...
Re: Bye Bye Boris!
Be interesting to see what has been agreed with the EU when the detail comes out. All that seems to be publicised at the moment is fishing aspect.
As regards that point, some people seem to be saying that he's "sold them out". Not sure how a further five year transition with 25% of the current quotas being handed over for that period and then a presumed ramping down after that point (plus with future negotiations on fish having no link to the overall trade deal) is a 'sellout'.
Seems extremely pragmatic to me as would never be reasonable to just deny access overnight to all EU fisherman that have built livelihoods out of fishing in our waters for the past 40 years.
ETA: No role for the politicised clown court/quasi legislature of the ECJ (or CJEU more accurately) is a massive win.

I don’t know why he was so focused on something so worthless the whole time...
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Bye Bye Boris!
Possibly the fact that they get much more that us out of the arrangement and therefore a strategic bargaining point in exchange for stuff we do want!
Also a very vivid and easily understandable point of principal in relation to sovereignty.
