Re: Coronavirus
If Macron has this do all the other eu nobbers he's been meeting need to self isolate for all xmas? Happy days

Re: Coronavirus
I agree entirely - if the guidance remained the same and the Government simply said they weren't going to fine people for seeing their own family, but that they need to be aware of the risks, that would be a reasonable way to deal with it. Constantly changing the rules doesn't seem to help at all.Ascender wrote: Wed Dec 16, 2020 4:46 pm I don't see why they're making such a big (confusing) fuss about Christmas. Its the one day/time of the year where people will just do whatever they want. Those who have genuine concerns about family members will adjust accordingly, but I suspect for the majority it will just be business as usual. The government should have seen this coming.
Re: Coronavirus
Fuck me is this the amount of reductions? TWO areas of England.
121 per 100000 Bristol down to tier 2
45 Herefordshire down to tier 1
Someone must highlight that as a basis why aren't other areas moving tiers based on these figures?

Re: Coronavirus
We're up to tier 3 then. I expected as much.
Re: Coronavirus
I think people should be discouraged from being tested.
Re: Coronavirus
Excellent, I've got lunch booked in Hereford this Sunday. Since it was Tier 2 before (when I booked) it won't make any difference being moved to Tier 1 anyway.
Re: Coronavirus
I kinda feel like the lockdown and subsequent tier system is all just the same thing really in terms of my life, so I don't see why the case rates are varying so wildly.
Lockdown - went to work as normal, couldn't go to the pub, basically sat at home most of the time.
Tier 2 - went to work as normal, couldn't be arsed to go to the pub due to having to have a meal every time, basically just sat at home most of the time.
Expectations for tier 3? As above.

Yes, but it's also about the Tier you live in. You can't go for lunch in a Tier 1 or 2 if you live in Tier 3...Jobbo wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 12:32 pm Excellent, I've got lunch booked in Hereford this Sunday. pretty similar here. My social life has pretty much been my office, meeting in parks, mountain biking and golf.duncs500 wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 12:40 pm I kinda feel like the lockdown and subsequent tier system is all just the same thing really in terms of my life, so I don't see why the case rates are varying so wildly.

From here
"If you live in a Tier 3 area, you must continue to follow Tier 3 rules when you travel to a Tier 1 or Tier 2 area."

I don't live in Tier 3 either. I'm not in those disease-ridden Home Counties.Simon wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 12:43 pmYes, but it's also about the Tier you live in. Re: Coronavirus
Can you travel from tier 2 to 1 for lunch?
Re: Coronavirus
When I booked it, it was Tier 2 to Tier 2. I'm not going to cancel because it's got safer

ETA: and yes, in any case: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-2-high ... ier-2-area

Re: Coronavirus
Quite amusing (in a not at all amusing way, because we've spent so fucking much on it) the way everyone has basically abandoned the track and trace app. I've only had to do it (ie, won't be let in without) once since I got it. It's so glitchy that it only seems to work half the time and most places just go for the "write down your number" if they do anything.
Re: Coronavirus
Not quite - the guidance says you can just go for a drink in Tier 1, but you have to have a substantial meal in Tier 2 and can't drink while you're not eating. I've no idea what Tier 1 is like in practice though.
Re: Coronavirus
To be fair its not law just guidance so you can do what you want and call it a business meeting just in case.

Some right sad stories in this thread.

Every day’s a school day then. I just assumed that you weren’t allowed to travel to somewhere which is in a lower tier than you... regardless of tiers, cos that’s how a numbered system like this should work right?Jobbo wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:36 pmWhen I booked it, it was Tier 2 to Tier 2. Re: Coronavirus
Yep, that’ll magically make it go away.
Maybe ask them not to go to hospital when they can’t breathe too

Cheers, Harry
