It's the weekend
Re: It's the weekend
Off to Menorca for a last minute week away tomorrow. It's gonna be roasty toasty out there, so expecting to come back as the full Haribo.

In a caravan in north Wales this weekend. Rented, not bought.
Middle-aged Dirtbag
Re: It's the weekend
Forgot you went to this.
Took the kids, the pit pass wasn’t worth it but the event was awesome!
My eldest was knackered so fell asleep after the races but my youngest was doing the 80s fist pump at the start of every display
Will definitely go again.
Dave!

I'm going sailing in Cornwall. On a boat with sails. Borrowed, not rented or bought.
Re: It's the weekend
Fixing a drawer for my tenants, that apparently just broke while they were in the other room
Re: It's the weekend
Cooking for 10 adults and 12 kids on the bbq.
I shall get slowly drunk and then sleep in the garage.

Re: It's the weekend
I should be finally moving into my workshop on Sunday
Re: It's the weekend
Works dinner tonight (three birthdays this week, including mine) but I'm driving so no boozyness.
Work tomorrow - rebuilding some things - which'll be dull. In the office for that.
Then on Sunday, it's billing day so up early to do that.
What weekend?

A weekend of hardcore clubbing and class A’s...
...sadly that’s a complete lie. Actually looking after the nipper whilst the wife goes out to play.

Re: It's the weekend
Saturday - doing the corporate thing at Newcastle races with clients. Starts with 4 course lunch on arrival in private marquee, win/lose some money, free bar all day, after races transported to a bar on the Quayside for more free booze and a BBQ. After which we will head into town for some drunken shenanigans. Can't wait. I love going out in the Toon!
Sunday - Maintain the recovery position in hotel bed for as long as possible before dashing downstairs for a last minute breakfast then chill out before checking with breathalyser as to when it is safe to drive very slowly back home. A little family time, a curry infused spatchcocked chicken and bed!

Tomorrow: wife's cousin's priesting in Guildford. Followed by barbeque.
Sunday: swimming with the eldest in the morning, then fun day (with barbeque) at the local church, then swimming with the middle one in the afternoon. Then watch the race/highlights.

I am test-driving the new Dacia Duster tomorrow with my dad. He's a strange chap, last summer he wanted a Mustang to replace his 10yr old Focus CC and I agreed to pay half as he hadn't realised cars could cost more than £15k, how we ended up here I don't know

They're organised lessons, normally one after the other, but the pool that we use is closed for refurbishment over the summer, so based on interest from the parents they've cancelled one class (for the eldest, so I take him to the local leisure centre) and moved the middle one's lesson to a hotel 45 mins away at half five one a Sunday. Littlest one swims on Thursdays somewhere else.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 7:07 pm Seems odd that you only swim with your kids individually.
It is a bit of a pain, but temporary. Come September it should all be back to normal. I can't manage both of them at the same time when we're practicing, so this is the logistically simplest option.

I've not gone to the airshow. Partly too much weather for me today, partly the BoB flyover is going over the house
A local primary contacted them and asked 'if you're nearby can you fly over our school?' to which they replied 'yes, okay.'
I can stay out of the uv8 and pollen laden air until then, preferable to being stuck out in the open at Headcorn, though I'll miss the rest of the display flights
I washed the Polo in the early hours yesterday. It'd been parked under a tree for a couple of weeks and was covered in sap/berries/bird poo. It was only a basic jetwash, and it took a while, but now it's just dirty rather than toxic - it even reflects some light and has a shine in places! You can't escape teh stupids on the road though, even at 4-4.30 a.m.
Edit; only the Spitfire came over, not the Hurricane. Only
When it's low overhead and does tight banked curves you can't feel unawed
