Your new retirement hobby.
Your new retirement hobby.
As we are all young whipper snappers with many many more healthy years left in us. What will you do when the practicalities of ICE cars becomes too much of a pain ? Whether that be in 10 or 40 years.
I shall look to tinker and develop some kind of track/ Hillclimb car that isn’t legal for the road. Something like a 911 where you can do so many things.
I shall also go full tonto on the train set and keep expanding and making it bigger and better.
Dave!

It's a good question Dave! I haven't really thought about it, take up golf maybe?
Re: Your new retirement hobby.
An electric tow car to tow interesting ICE car to trackdays?
Re: Your new retirement hobby.
I’ve got a list of possible projects a mile long for the occasion I have the time/money to work on them.
Blown big block Mercury Comet gasser
Twin Turbo LS Pro Street Volvo 940
Some sort of Euro gasser. E30 3-series or something like that.
Basically buy a bit of land and fill it with rusty unfinished projects for some youtuber to find after I die

Re: Your new retirement hobby.
Actually working on ICE cars only takes up a few days of my year as it is and almost all of that is stuff that can happen to EVs too.
How about not having a sig at all?

I haven't got a clue. Obviously write a generation defining novel, broker peace between enemies, and become a celebrated pundit on all manner of topics.
Not sure what to do with the rest of the week.
Of the above I think trying to write a book is likely to be something to do. But I haven't really got hobbies as such.

Piano - I've already started as this year has given me a feeling as to what retirement might look like.
Dunno what else. My Dad retired early and nearly went mental after putting his feet up for a few months so most people need something to fill their time. I work out every day but I'm not going to be able to do that forever and I do wonder about the psychologial effect of having to stop. Can see why golf is popular with the giffers.

Ah that's a good one TBH. I used to write a lot. I'd like to get back into it but I'm never quite in the right headspace for it just now.DeskJockey wrote: Fri Nov 20, 2020 9:55 am I haven't got a clue. I've never really written things down, but I've got paragraphs and ideas that have been rumbling around my head for years.ZedLeg wrote: Fri Nov 20, 2020 10:09 amAh that's a good one TBH. It's worth keeping a wee notebook or two around, even if you're not deliberately planning anything. You can organise the stuff going around your head better.
