Request to the ov9 forum

Post by mik »

I’ve been holding off posting anything, but Neil (Nefarious )has been rather busy since the weekend and not mentioned it here. I’m posting to support only.

I won’t go into details as I am only on the edge of things and more likely to misinform than provide any further clarity, but huge respect to Nef for the way he has dropped everything to support his & ScottA’s mate at a time of significant need, and how he’s managed to mobilise practical support to help cope with the aftermath. The response across twitter has been quite astonishing.

Times are really shit for many at the moment, so if money is tight - then money is tight.

If you can spare a couple of quid though - I know it would be appreciated.

I wasn't going to post on here as I didn't want people to feel obligated to chip in, but yeah, this shit happened. Pissing wet track, zero visibility, fastest bit of the circuit. Happened right in front of me, but all I saw was white, white, white, fucking carnage. Only blind luck kept the flying wheels and bodywork out of my face. Literally the worst accident I've ever seen or even heard about in all my time racing.

At the moment, the few positives are that he's alive, the doctors say they're "not unduly concerned" about a bleed on the brain, and the first two rounds of major surgery are behind him. The situation is an unmitigated shitshow, but at least we can say it's all upwards from here.

So sorry to see your friend and fellow racer going through that, Neil and Scott. A harsh reminder of what can happen :(

Fairly fucking horrendous. Was in a bit of shock since getting the call from Neil on Sunday. I wasnt at silverstone this year so didnt see events first hand. Had i been there it would have happened right infront of me as i would have been stood on the pitwall. Gladly i wasnt as that's something that i did not need to see.

Ive been driving the twitter side of things and its had some fairly big names getting behind it. Ive had a DM from Paul O'Neil ex BTCC driver who has shared the page numerous times over the past few days. Current total - £25,125 Fuckin hell...

That’s absolutely horrendous to read, the updates sound encouraging though and my thoughts are with him and his family as they get through this. Can’t really comprehend what they must all be going through.
Cheers,

Mike.

Massive thanks to the folks off here that donated. Really above and beyond the call of duty.

Looking on Twitter it’s nice to see how many high profile motoring/racing people are giving their support. All the best to his recovery and family.
