Re: No F1 thread?
Looks risky, but wouldn't Perez be an obvious candidate as a senior driver alongside someone new? BBC speculate about Mick Schumacher and/or Nikita Mazepin. The former is strongly linked with Ferrari (parts), the latter comes with potential for serious financial support from his billionaire dad.

How is it risky, you could stick 2 rookies in and probably have a less risky line up considering the 2 idiots currently driving at Haas
How about not having a sig at all?

True, but if they're looking to develop the car and team, a bit of experience might help.Mito Man wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:07 am How is it risky, you could stick 2 rookies in and probably have a less risky line up considering the 2 idiots currently driving at Haas![]()

Callum Ilott will be a candidate tooDeskJockey wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:02 am Looks risky, but wouldn't Perez be an obvious candidate as a senior driver alongside someone new? Considering the direction Haas development has gone as of recent years then I’m not sure the current experienced pair of drivers were much use in that either.DeskJockey wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:08 amTrue, but if they're looking to develop the car and team, a bit of experience might help.Mito Man wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:07 am How is it risky, you could stick 2 rookies in and probably have a less risky line up considering the 2 idiots currently driving at Haas![]()

Re: No F1 thread?
Valid point. But I'd rate Perez above either of the departing pair as a driver.

This exceeding track limits thing - why not have something there that fucks the cars up? Quite simple and effective.
Re: No F1 thread?
Would make it better than that snorefest. Crofty shouting how exciting it is doesn't wash as it really is not at all.

I enjoyed the race, and it was special watching history being made. Go Hamilton!

I thought that was a pretty decent race tbh. I hope they go back to Portimao - so much more interesting than many other circuits.
Kinda cool for LH to break the record at a circuit never raced at before and possibly not again.
WTF was Stroll playing at?!

The brick wall he hits when pulling out of the slipstream at 1m40 was really visible from the external camera view too. More horsies please.

Re: No F1 thread?
There was talk in the Sky coverage about Perez replacing Russell at Williams and leaving Russell without a seat for next year. That would be an absolute travesty, he always seems to outperform his machinery and his team mate. He deserves a shot in a better car if anything.

Re: No F1 thread?
RB have also been vocal about Albon, and any replacement coming from outside their programme. So all sorts of possibillities yet. It would be a shame to see both Russell and Perez out of drives.duncs500 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:35 am There was talk in the Sky coverage about Perez replacing Russell at Williams and leaving Russell without a seat for next year. There would be a certain Irony to Perez losing his seat due to money/nepotism and then going and ousting GR due to money.duncs500 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:35 am There was talk in the Sky coverage about Perez replacing Russell at Williams and leaving Russell without a seat for next year. What about Mercedes PUs to RedBull to put Russell in the second RedBull alongside Max?
Re: No F1 thread?
I can’t believe that Gio will supposedly be retained, he’s piss poor, Ferrari can’t be that desperate to have an Italian driver?!
Once Albon gets the boot why don’t they drop in Gasley again? The whole Toro Rosso program has been a bit pointless the last 3 years as the strength of drivers outside of it has been much better but Red Bull have limited themselves to it.

Re: No F1 thread?
Gasly wouldn't go back would be my guess. They'll want a compliant No.2 to Verstappen who will also be consistent enough to bring home good points. I'm usre GR would be capable but Perez would make more sense.
Re: No F1 thread?
When will Merc sack Bottas? Hamilton yet again totally destroyed him. Of course, he's a great no. 2 driver but it would be fun to watch a Verstappen or Riccardo to challenge Hamilton.
