They're on Tesla's site - looks pretty reasonable on a PCH (if you take into account how much you save on fuel) but there doesn't seem to be a business contract hire option.

I thought that was pretty decent. I imagine the viewing figures will go up simply because it's been moved to BBC1 now.

I'd say the TG presenters are making more of a killing than the likes of Shmee; they're the ones on prime-time BBC1 earning massive salaries for making 6-8 episodes a year of cocking about.

Are the car youtubers making that much of a killing though? All the successful ones had a pretty successful career prior to it I believe. The only one I’m aware of is Paul Wallace who seems like he actually made a living off it but I haven’t watched him in years - but it’s clear he has no where near the fancy level of cars as the others.
How about not having a sig at all?

Yes they set up a business and all the cars are put through a ltd company. When you actually earn a penny on your own your might know a bit more about life.

Most of them are loaned the cars at very good rates in exchange for the exposure and ‘influence’

I doubt many car bloggers are making as much real life coin in their pocket as any top gear presenter is.

The gaming guys definitely can make big money, but I don't know if that applies to primarily to Twitch or whether they get a good wedge from YT too.

I'd say car vlogging is one of the less profitable youtuber specialisms, high expenses and less obvious brand partnerships and opportunities to flog products than with fitness, food YouTubers etc. Schmee's probably doing best out of the UK bunch because he puts up so much content but I don't think the rest will be making megabucks.

Successful vlogging seems to involve just getting overly excited.

I don’t think shmee could tell the difference between a nut & bolt, and Usain Bolt

I agree, Schmee has had to make a new video every single day for the last 10 years or something to get where he is. The TG guys turn up and cock around. I'd take their life every time!

AFAIK YouTube isn't great for actually making money anymore, too many algorithmic hoops to jump through. That's why most people who do it as a job also have Patreon, a Twitch channel or some other source of revenue.

But Broccers says we're wrong

Broccers, have you considered giving up the day job and becoming a Youtube sensation instead? If not, why not if it's such an easy life?

This is quite a good insight into YouTube ad revenue for the more popular YouTubers. Bear in mind that the UK car YouTubers get on average about 1-2% of the views of the video that this looks at!

Interesting stuff.

Shmee150 is earning between £23k and £367k a year according to that site (and probably having to put a large amount of that into the finance rates on the cars).

Flintoff and Paddy are on £500k a year (or over contract two years).
