No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
Crofty just finds new ways to come across as a moron each week. This time bellowing in Q2 about how many tenths Hamilton was away from Bottas when clearly he didn’t give a shit providing he came 10th or above to get into Q3...
Re: No F1 thread?
What about his thought that Mercedes didn’t have the ability to restart their power unit hence they wouldn’t queue in the pit lane despite the Racing Point with the exact same engine doing just that
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: No F1 thread?
Just swapped channels to see what’s going on in F2...
Drivers okay

I'm guessing it's not worth my while watching the F1 highlights then seeing as there's not a single comment about the race here
Re: No F1 thread?
Maybe just watch the 5 min highlight they usually put on YouTube. If anything it’s clear how desperate and sore at winning Bottas is.

It had its moments - the "safe" return route onto the track at turn 2 took a few out - worth a look for how verstappen took it correctly too - impressive.
Overall, a race decided by penalties though.

Re: No F1 thread?
It was Sochi - it's a shit track so was always going to be a dull race. It was only the oddity at Turn 2 and the dumb penalties that provided even the slightest bit of interest.
Re: No F1 thread?
Great race, provided me with a lovely afternoon snooze.

Re: No F1 thread?
Loved ricciardo’s attitude to his penalty

Re: No F1 thread?
yeah, that did stand out as being pretty cool.
Re: No F1 thread?
Bit weird I thought - I'm sure Danny Ric knows the art of the possible better than me but I would have thought no way he could have feasibly got round the foam chicane from the point that he went off the track at turn 2.
Understand if you understeer off prior to the red and white kerbs and have time to slow the car down / are already much further left...

If you look at the above picture, DR went off and back on again around the mid-apex where that orange marker is. If you look at the angle of the cars behind and how they are positioning themselves to get round the foam chicane at the end, you can see what nonsense it is to say that he should have instead gone round to the left with the speed he was carrying and steering lock available on an F1 car. Another stupid call by the stewards IMO.

I'd agree entirely GG. And TBH he would have also been fully justified in blaming Ocon for pulling over in such a clumsy fashion.
Re: No F1 thread?
This really once again shows the problem with tarmac runoff areas
Re: No F1 thread?

Re: No F1 thread?
Seemed quite a good race on the c4 highlights show. Some very amusing chat in the after show from DC and mark webber too.
Mental than sainz ever thought he was going to thread it through that chicane, it was obvious his angle was far too shallow, max took a far earlier swerve so he could approach it in pretty much a straight line.

They've finally made a decent engine after years of being shit, now they decide to pull out!
Not surprising really, all their advertising is pushing electric cars.

Bodes well for RB then, if what happened last time Honda quit F1 is any indication.Rich B wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 10:02 am They've finally made a decent engine after years of being shit, now they decide to pull out!
