Coronavirus
Re: Coronavirus
It’s awful, I have had 2 near head on crashes driving around South Staffs as I think people don’t understand other cars are on the road again.
Another near head on where I was the second car had me up the grass bank hard on the brakes and the poor bugger in the car in front was frozen to the steering wheel with her husband trying to talk to her.
I think if some yards don’t drive for a month they seem unable to be around a car again.
Dave!

Re: Coronavirus
Really busy last 2 days as everyone goes to Cornwall.
On this initial subject. How many ventilation units do we have now? Are they even needed or is the whole thing total shit?
I've a strong feeling no-one cares these days and feel they've been had.
edit - did my own googling on this exciting friday evening https://www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... entilators

So we never really needed 30000 of them anyway. The health secretary, Matt Hancock, later revised the target down to 18,000. But social distancing measures and a realisation among doctors that less invasive methods of ventilation were preferable
Re: Coronavirus
Had my bi annual MRI scan today, I imagined the hospital staff would be dressed like on tv but they were wearing nothing more than a face mask. Just took my temp on entry and asked if I had the symptoms.
What is worrying though is that I was the only person in the waiting room. I walked past the CT scan area and no patients, 1 in radiotherapy. General consultant area which usually has 100 people in had about 10.
Must be lots of people with illnesses at home hoping it’s nothing serious but fuck it’s going to be bad.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Coronavirus
Hope all is well youngster. That's just it everything is running at low numbers but why? I bet everyone is taking holidays which to be honest should have been taken out of their furlough and bank holidays shouldve been scrapped.
Re: Coronavirus
All is well thanks
I go to the Royal Marsden which only deals with cancer so it was odd seeing it so quiet, I wouldn’t say it’s understaffed, just that there seemed to be very few patients. I’m guessing it’s because they’re not getting many referrals from GPs and other hospitals.

It's because they're still being told to be cautious. Article in today's Telegraph (pinch of salt therefore reqd) about surgeons being at 50% capacity and lots of empty waiting rooms. Meanwhile waiting lists are ballooning at an alarming rate.Mito Man wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:24 pm Had my bi annual MRI scan today, I imagined the hospital staff would be dressed like on tv but they were wearing nothing more than a face mask. Not sure if it's Gov't or unions to blame or both
ETA in response to your last post but referrals are still as normal. It's the follow up appointments that are way way down.

Do you go to Chelsea or 'Sutton'?Mito Man wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:58 pm All is well thanks

'Sutton' because I don't know why it's classed as Sutton when it's actually Belmont. Also just up the road from my folks and where my Mum used to work as a radiotherapist, hence the question...Mito Man wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 10:39 pmI go to Sutton, used to be at Chelsea until 18 months ago.Simon wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 10:32 pmDo you go to Chelsea or 'Sutton'?Mito Man wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:58 pm All is well thanks

This closing down of parties rings back to the late 80s when we weren't allowed to go out and there was little future for young people.
Don't blame them one bit. (As long as they keep away from their grannies)

Pretty high quantity of dreadlocks present there. Just a load of hippies doing what hippies do.
