Re: Coronavirus
England figures now been revised to match Scotland / wales and only count COVID deaths as such within 28 days of a positive test.

Re: Coronavirus
Which also seems like a gross simplification. But then I wonder how many that genuinely die from it do so beyond 28 days.integrale_evo wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 11:30 am England figures now been revised to match Scotland / wales and only count COVID deaths as such within 28 days of a positive test.
Re: Coronavirus
Yesterdays news : Nearly 300 staff test positive for COVID-19 at factory that makes sandwiches for M&S
79 workers tested positive through NHS tests while 213 positive results came back from Greencore's private testing
I wonder how many were off work sick already ?

Re: Coronavirus
Presumably as we’re now halfway through August, they’re trying to keep infections under control ahead of Autumn & Winter where we’ll also have seasonal flu to contend with - so like earlier in the year, trying to protect the vulnerable and prevent the NHS from becoming overwhelmed? Because for all the mass gatherings of people we’ve had, there’s been no massive spike and certainly very few deaths from the outbreaks.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Coronavirus
Its almost as if people are sensible to keep away from their parents or ill folk by using common sense. Maybe that should have been the directive initially.Ascender wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2020 9:22 am Presumably as we’re now halfway through August, they’re trying to keep infections under control ahead of Autumn & Winter where we’ll also have seasonal flu to contend with - so like earlier in the year, trying to protect the vulnerable and prevent the NHS from becoming overwhelmed? Re: Coronavirus
That was the advice at the start, wash your hands, keep away from people, cover your coughs / sneezes. Then they were advised not to go to pubs / bars, but kept going and were probably at their busiest the night they knew they were going to be closing.
Unfortunately people won’t do what they’re asked they carry on as normal until change is forced upon them.

Re: Coronavirus
I really want to get home but the situation is still way off being able to do that...
Even if/when quarantine is lifted, it's still going to be socially distanced, mask wearing, contact... I don't really want to put the young fella through that - seeing his grandparents like that. Zoom conferences for a while yet I guess...

Re: Coronavirus
Now we are allowed out and you can see people, I popped in the pub yesterday and a lad in there and I struck up a conversation. He had got close to his next door neighbour over lock down. On saturday they had a kiss, then she sent him an explicit vid which her husband found. The guy was in bits as didnt want to be a home wrecker. Lots and lots of these stories to follow as the populous find their daily lives change.
Re: Coronavirus
Ha yes but he still lives next to them. No running away.
