Panamera Ring Time

I don’t maintain a spreadsheet, but the 8 min mark still resonates as a benchmark (R33 GTR, Jethro in his stripped E36 M3 Evo, Pete Revsrus in his GT4 last month).

I know lots of cars have smashed that, and the time doesn’t reflect on how tactile or exciting it it to drive, but a < 7m30 lap from a Panamera feels pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, 8 mins still seems like a quick time to me too.

Saying that, I still think of anything sub 5 to 60 as proper quick and basically any remotely sporty car will do that these days

I wonder how that would be now with a set of Pilot Sport 4 tyres.

Jethros was a 3.0. A rare 1 of 50 GT in fact, which ‘ruined’ a now rapidly appreciating special edition which didn’t offer any performance advantage what so ever because the uk spec GTs didn’t get the engine modifications the proper European lhd ones did

Nope, the uk ones didn’t get the cams or even the twin pickup oil pump, it was a completely standard 3.0 lump.

I was at the ring again last week and an instructor told me that panamera had plastic shrouds where the headlights are meant to be and that was just one modification that was immediately visible. Goodness knows what else was non-standard.
