Just caught the finale of Westworld, and it was
a bit dense. Didn't feel as well polished as S1s finale but clearly they're setting up Season 3 to be where things change from the existing/understood Westworld main story (IE
a lot of this season was clearly tipping
a hat to Futureworld).
I did notice something interesting, but it's
a fuuuuucking huge spoiler if you've not seen it, so don't quote this post if you don't want to be annoyed.
The MIBs daughter said she had plans for him that are worse than death, etc. What happens at the end? He's a host, being given a fidelelity test, and has for the last umpteen times, just gone through killing his daughter at the park and being left for dead in the desert. Sounds a bit like the Hell in Preacher to me...
I don't think we'll see Ed Harris in Season 3 - i think that was explicitly meant to be a callback to that moment.
