Nothing exceptional, just a decent upgrade from the Toshiba tvs crap speakers. I have a Polk S2 and the sound was good for a couple of years.

Soundbars

My Polks sound has gone muffled so I’m looking for a new one. Any recommendations?

Re: Weekend toy £25k

Whatever I get will be my only car. An Elise is high on the list, not been in one since MarkBT52s Exige so don’t know what they’re like getting in and out of at 50+

S1 with a roof on parked next to another vehicle is definitely a skill!

S2 and onwards have a noticeably lower sill which ...

Re: Weekend toy £25k

I don't think I could ever get an F Type over an XK.

Same platform, just without rear seats, which although aren't great seats, do fit a load of stuff should you go away and take a decent amount of luggage/dogs etcs.

You'd also get a proper XKR 5.0 SC cheaper than any F Type R, and you'd notice ...

Re: Weekend toy £25k

Probably just me, but I bulk at the idea of spending £800 a year on road tax for a second car.

I could probably justify if I was buying a single, all-rounder, but paying £1500/year for tax and insurance for a car that's only for weekends before you get to fuel and servicing rubs me the wrong ...

A bit “softer” (?) - F-Type
This would probably be my choice if it was my only car.

I do like the looks, a guy in town had a first gen and a guy in the next town now has it (I live in a small town, it’s the only one round). What was their thinking behind the 2.0L, looking at the figures the ...

An F Type is a possibility.

Re: Weekend toy £25k

Boxster/Cayman is a good shout. Low end of Evora market too (probably only NA for that money - might get a leggier ‘charged car.

Z4M
370Z
Super/turbocharged MX5 for examples

My first MX5 put me off them. Oddly I think the Cayman hasn’t aged as well as the Boxster, I would normally go for a ...

Weekend toy £25k

So working from home now means my X1 has become a drive ornament and does at most 4 miles a week. The plan is to sell it and get a toy in a couple of months. I’ve been training my hand for a while so manual boxes are back on the list for me. A Boxster seems top of the list, I just need to get to ...

Re: The AI Thread

Are there any reliable AI checkers? I currently deliver courses online and a lot of the ‘less able’ students try to get away with using it for their answers. The problem is I’ve run the same answer through different checkers, namely Grammerly and Zerogpt and one gives a percentage of 100% AI use and ...

Saltburn . Enjoyed it despite the lack of any portrayal of Zonda, who I assumed it was about being the only notable resident of Saltburn. Bit indulgent in length - Amazon can do that whereas a theatre release would have been more tightly edited.

First race I’ve seen this season, utterly farcical. Dozens of overtakes and all of them nothing to do with racing. Ooh, I’ve pressed my magic button and sailed past, oh now you’ve done it do me and repeat…
