Is there some end game with this involving stopping the mid-terms?

Re: Bye bye Starmer
I think saying “that’s democracy” is a bit glib tbh.
More and more of what’s happening in UK and US politics isn’t tracking with popular opinion. It’s running to an agenda dictated by a group of incredibly rich and powerful people.
I think you're missing my point. I agree to the second bit ...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
We really need to get away from the idea that there are “grown up parties” that are intrinsically better for government imo.
Labour were supposed to be the grown ups back in charge and they’ve been a mess.
I think there's a certain level of competency that allows government to function just ...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
The Tories have lost their deposit and that's shocking from the official opposition. I'd be very interested to see a by-election result in a historically Tory heartland seat.
Well I think there's a pretty good chance that Reform are going to do quite well in typical Tory strongholds. I ...
Re: 6 Nations
We will of course endeavour to assist our Scottish and Irish brethren if we can. Would love it if the Scottish did over the French at Murrayfield.
Re: 6 Nations
Watched the England game with three Irishmen. It wasn't enjoyable.
I don't know what's happened to England, but we seen incapable of a lot of basic stuff at the moment. At least we go to Paris without any hopes to have dashed.

Re: No F1 thread?
The Ferrari genuinely has a lot of innovation. It’s got a blown diffuser too! I’m trying to save my excitement because it’s Ferrari 😂
Indeed! Ferrari have an uncanny knack of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Also Mercedes might decide to turn the wick up and vanish off into the ...

Re: No F1 thread?
I thought the compression ratio testing would be a dimensional test anyway, so surely ambient / hot testing pressure is irrelevant to that? Although, perhaps there is a pressure test too that they use that to beat?
You need to watch the vid I posted on p297 : tested at ambient but careful ...

Re: No F1 thread?
The last thing I read about the Mercedes engine made it sound much less like clever engineering and much more like plain cheating. Supposedly they do have the expanding piston design but apparently that’s relatively simple and other teams do too but their unique thing is that they have an extra ...

Re: No F1 thread?
I watched the last bit of testing today, lots of cars doing test pit stops fine, and everyone got away on the mock start, so I think that issue has been overplayed.
Looks increasingly likely that the teams are going to force a mid-season adjustment to the compression ratio testing temp, which is ...

Re: 6 Nations
Cardiff should be one of the toughest places to go and best atmospheres in the whole thing really.
Re: 6 Nations
It's a shame because Wales have fallen off it as Italy have become more competitive. Putting allegiances aside it would be great for every team to go into each game knowing if they're not at their best they're liable to get beat.

Top three are close though, the rest are a mile off it.
Re: 6 Nations
It seems to me that our best hope for keeping this tournament interesting is if Scotland can play like they did this weekend again at home to France on the 7th March. France are much better than England, but play like that and they're in the game. It would involve getting up for the game as much as ...
