Re: No F1 thread?
Interesting to see how their forms have peaked and dipped over the year. Lando starting strong, Oscar a clear leader through the mid season, but now coming good just a couple of races too late.
Isn't the main reason for Lando some front end issue that it took a few races to correct, and Oscar ...

It's amazing that the Red Bull isn't at risk of plank wear given that it's basically dragging it's arse around the track.

Re: No F1 thread?
Quite a fraught race for McLaren today. They've got the quickest car, Lando will want to get past Oscar and wrap up the championship, but if they trip over each other it's an absolute disaster for both of them.
Of course the team will have discussed that.
Most likely Lando on the dirty side is ...

Re: No F1 thread?
Yeah, could easily bin off the sprints. Having an extra start is the only thing that's good about it. Maybe we could just have quali, then a 3 lap pre-race sprint, and the finishing positions from that dictate starting grid for the race. That way we get two race starts without so much disruption.

In politics? Not holding my breath for that!... I understand it though, they are trying to find a tightrope between achieving their broad ideological goals and maintaining the votes from at least a significant proportion of people who are ...

Re: Bye Bye Rachel Reeves
The trouble is, and this is just my simplistic view, is that to me it seems to be part of the problem of wage stagnation. It's a nice earner for successive Gov'ts as it allows them to state that they're not putting taxes up. To account for inflation wages need to rise notably to cover off ...

It would’ve been nice to see a raise in the personal allowance tbh.
Fiscal drag seems to be the policy now - Dan Neidle calculates that it's the biggest overall tax raiser from a single policy since WWII.
If they are able to get value out of it, and it makes a difference to the country ...

Disaster more like, that was a must win.

Everyone's arse-dyno (copyright mik) is calibrated to BHP, therefore it must stay.

Yeah, he's done some great stuff. I love his ones about coming up with the rules to sports. "Jason! Jason! Jason!"

Yeah I don't have TNT either, but it's probably a good thing I don't have access to it live.

I think the BBC have got a highlights package, so I'm looking forward to that. It would be nice to win down there for a change!

How come I never noticed one of the Ferrari mechanics doing a running headbutt into the wall, shortly after he told Filipe Massa's family he hadn't won the championship
I have no interest in F1 and even I’m aware of that happening
I am also shocked about that Marv! I thought ...

I went to the premiere of Luca - Seeing Red last night. Harris' film about Luca Montezemolo, with a live Q&A after with them both and the director. It was really good, deffo one to watch when it comes out.
He's an fascinating man, and answered every question after with a complete unrelated story ...

Re: No F1 thread?
Enjoyable race. Lando's had serious pace lately, he really just needs to keep it tidy until the end of the season now. But the level of pressure for a WDC can do funny things to people.
Oscar has nothing to lose now, pressure is off in some ways, be interesting to see if his pace will ramp up.
