Re: Scumbags

Yep that’s pretty fucked up. Last month my friend’s Ring cameras caught an old guy with a DSLR camera peering round his garden. Last month we had good weather so his kids were probably out playing. Sadly the CCTV just shows the man with a camera walking past the driveway and front of the house and ...

Re: FAO Legal Eagles (and/or Beagles)

Worth a try for some money off, more profit in it for them than to take it back and shift it on knackered. I don't know where you stand legally, but if you like the car, hopefully you'll keep it either way. You got it dirt cheap, yes you've had to spend a bit, but you now know it has a pucker head.....

Re: Holiday or endurance trial?

My version of that is just a week at home catching up on my reading and day drinking. I normally do it around my birthday and have a big party as well. I understand that, I just turn into a slob if I am at home for any period of time unsupervised! I might make grand plans, and then promptly achieve...

Re: Holiday or endurance trial?

Nef, you're a nutter! If it (usually) makes you happy, though, good for you. I'm sure you'll find a better venue next time. The likes of Carlos and Swerv are more aligned to my way of thinking. I used to be all about visiting interesting places, and I still am to a degree, but with the stresse...

Re: eBay 996 build thread

When he dropped my current car off he started driving it off with a strop wrapped round the wheel. Started pulling tight and touching the bodywork before he realised there was some resistance and stopped. Thankfully no damage.

Albon getting the red bull drive makes me wonder if kvyat was given first refusal and turned it down in favour of the seat with less pressure
That’s not how racing drivers work!
 Indeed. Do you want to drive a race winning car? Nah, I'll stick in the midfield thanks.

Chuffed for Albon. Comes across well and has done a good job so far. Hopefully he's quick right off the bat.

Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged

Looks impressive enough, but doesn't really excite me. I would consider an electric car one day for day to day stuff once it was actually usable with the range etc. Just don't know if I could get excited about one as a fun car though.

Re: Sky TV

I don't have Sky, but it seems a bit like apple in that it "just works". All I'm really interested in is the sports, and I manage to catch up with everything one way or another, but it would be way less hassle and a better quality experience with Sky. I don't quite think it's worth the money for me ...

Re: No F1 thread?

I'm going to speculate that they'll keep Bottas and get Ocon into Williams for Kubica. The logic being, Bottas will be a better wing man than Ocon while LH goes for the magic no.7, and they will also get to see their two young drivers go head to head in Russell and Ocon in a straight fight for the M...

Re: Book review thread

I'm currently reading The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality by Brian Greene. It's a slightly out of date as it was written before CERN confirmed the Higgs particle, and occasionally it can be hard for my tiny brain to comprehend, but it is fascinating nonetheless and pitc...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

There are certainly quite a number of eastern Europeans that, having mostly initially been economic immigrants, have come to love this country and couldn't entertain going back home. On the other hand, there are economic immigrants who are here solely to be wealthy when they go back home, or send mo...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

Had those incidents that encouraged them to leave happened to them though Rev? Or had the media given the impression to them that these sort of things were on the rise? After the result the wife was worried for a while too, and I remember her showing me a few media bits about stuff happening around ...
