Re: The Watches Thread

When I uploaded the picture I just posted I realised that I forgot to make make private the Imgur album that I uploaded the previous Explorer image into - I've received seven downvotes and two comments from people who are angry that I 'feel the need' to share pictures of my watch on the internet. 😂

did you buy it from a dealer or private sale?
Dealer by credit card so hopefully shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Re: The Watches Thread

They're a really cool watch, even if the Omega Railmaster has a 15x higher Gauss rating ;) 8-) Not necessarily true ;) Click P.S Congrats on the Explorer, it looks beautiful. Interesting article and impressive performance from the Milgauss! I fear my Explorer purchase may have been a mistake. Earli...

When I was 16 I genuinely wanted a MK1 Fiat Panda as my first car.

Re: The Watches Thread

I always forget to change the date when months had fewer than 31 days so it usually said the wrong date away! Because of that I was specifically looking for watches without a date function!

Re: The Watches Thread

My friend suggested to me the other day that my having a watch that gains 1.5 minutes per day isn't ideal and that I should get a new one. After being largely happy with my Seiko 5 for the last four years and not really wanting anything else, despite having some frustrations about my 5, this has op...

Re: Book review thread

Resurrecting this thread to say how much I enjoyed my Christmas buy of Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe. One of Obama’s top ten books of 2019 and rightly so. I wasn’t very up on NI recent history and it’s just such a gripping account. Thanks for the recommendation, I downloaded this on Audible t...

Re: The Watches Thread

After wanting a Black Bay 36 for the last three months, I went to a dealer to try one on today. I felt completely 'meh' about it! It's not a bad looking watch at all, but it felt kind of 'blocky' despite being a small watch - noticeably smaller than my 38mm Seiko 5 - the case just looked and felt li...

Re: Golden Globes 2020

I don't like Gervais' stand up so tend to avoid that, but most of his series are good. Derek has some scenes which in themselves might be offensive, but the whole thing is really quite tastefully done I thought, and I'm not ashamed to say it made me cry a few times.

Re: 2019 - A Year In Review & Plans for 2020

Overall 2018 felt like a bit of a wasted year for me. I had hoped to get a new job and move away from Northern Ireland, but neither of those things happened. In January my job was cut to working four days a week, it was a change which I’d known was coming and I was quite happy about it - the extra ...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

No badge or name on the car so this confused me for a few minutes, but then 'Hudson' came into my head and it looks like it is indeed a Hornet coupe. There was another car that looked like a Dodge or Plymouth or similar parked close by but I didn't take a picture of it. https://i.imgur.com/GjLZ3mV.j...
