Re: Teh Spotted Thread

Saw a Fisker Karma (or whatever the new version of it is) last night in central London, looked awesome in black. I considered running down the road after it to get a photo, but didn't do that.

Re: The Music Thread

My music taste probably isn't cool enough for you guys, but I'm loving Snow Patrol's new Reworked EPs, mostly new versions of old songs but with a few new ones too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA2LBP_vqcw SOAK is my favourite artist that I've discovered this year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

I fear Boris' message of 'lets get this over with, then focus on other things' will be popular with voters, certainly it's an easier message to understand than what Labour have been saying (but let's see what they propose today).

Re: No F1 thread?

Gotta love the engine penalty rules, because Gasly has used his allowance that stays with the car and Albon will start his first race with red bull from the back of the grid As Coulthard says, it’s fucking stupid, they need a rethink. Why should the driver be punished and fans disappointed in this ...

Re: Who still frequents a pub?

Now that I live in London I go to pubs maybe twice a month with work colleagues / friends / dates. At home my colleagues didn't sociaise after work and me and my friends all owned houses which we could easily drive to - in London meeting somewhere central is better because we're all using public tra...

Re: Holiday or endurance trial?

A lot of my holidays for the last few years have been based around going to conferences and events that are kind of related to my work / personal development (but very much on my own time) then taking time to explore the area as well. California three years ago was my last properly self indulgent tr...

Re: The amount of crisps that come in multi-pack bags

I appear to have wandered into PH . You know you can still get the bigger sizes right? You just have to pay a bit more. You’ve got to love that capitalism. I can buy lots of proper sized single bags, but then I'm losing the economies of scale. McCoys single bag: 47.5g, £0.85 = 55.8 grams per p...

The amount of crisps that come in multi-pack bags

Re: No F1 thread?

Another very enjoyable race. I hate how the Channel 4 highlights go straight from stepping out of the car to podium ceremony, so we don't get to see the top three interview and 'room of awkwardness' which are the only times we get to see some human interaction between the drivers. Edit: at least the...

Ok I'm probably going to be shown up as a fool here, but isn't JRM obviously correct on this point as well? The oxford comma should come before the 'and' rather than after it.

I'm fully behind his bringing back the double space after the full stop though! I didn't realise that one space was the standard now until I got told off my the comms person in work a couple of months ago.

I nearly lost my much-loved Chris Ward C11 when a screw fell out whilst visiting the Postojna caves. 😳

Whilst that isn’t a euphemism, I do like now to ensure I have several good tight screws every few weeks.
What screw?

Re: Corvette

Yeah it looks a bit of a messy cheap Ferrari knock off, doesn't it. A shame really as in my head a mid engined Corvette could have been quite a distinctive and cool looking car. This Photoshop is the sort of thing I was hoping for: https://www.corvetteblogger.com/images/content/2018-2/100318_1c.jpg ...
