Re: Decent Recent TV

The Mother Of All Cons

Stumbled into this last week. It’s intentionally drawn out - they could definitely have told the story in less than three episodes, so it can be slow, but it’s a pretty jaw-dropping story.

I use KTC Extended Life Vegetable Oil 5 Litres. Two litres does a complete flush & refill of the pan.

I had to read this post very carefully, as I used to run my (remapped) Mk1 Leon TDi on 25% cooking oil back in the early noughties (obviously I'm joking HMRC), and I thought you'd adopted a ...

Re: The DSLR thread

bought myself something I’ve been looking for for years. A Vest Pocket Kodak Model B.

I file vintage cameras in my “very cool, but I have zero use for” bucket.

I’ve had a fiddle with a 40’s/50’s (Polaroid) Land Camera and (since the general layout / bellows design looks similar) assumed this ...

It has a bit of a Weissman look. Which is a good thing.

 go mrs @Ascender

Mrs mik has driven the Evora twice in the 10 years I've owned it : 5 minutes when I first got it, with me showing her the controls, and about 12 miles a few years ago when there was no other option.

And that's the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it. :geek:

Re: Soundbars

Insufficient experience to provide any guidance.

My tv came with a free LG S7Q soundbar from Richer Sounds. Used it for a month or so as it gave me 3 options:

- via TV speakers
- via soundbar
- via stereo

Realised that casual viewing was via TV speakers, and if I wanted decent sound then the ...

Jesus - so I got the quote for the 12 year service. It was as big as I expected for the things that I knew needed doing (£2,500) but there was an additional grand on top for servicing the centre lock wheels. £3,500 on a routine service is nuts.

 This isn’t increasing my opinion on the ...

Re: New Arrival

Before I bought my Escort RS turbo what I really wanted was a Strada Arbarth 130 TC

Rust on them was truly awful . I also lusted after the 130TC, but the silly gearing (5th was only 20mph/1000rpm) was a big put-off, as was the 23mpg they apparently achieved (partly via gearing, partly via ...

Yeah I think it was a Mazda 626 where it first appeared so by no means new at all.

do you think you could get it confused if you drive at exactly 42 to 43 miles per hour and sawed at the wheel...

Edit - it was the Honda Pelude in 1987

My Superstrada had rear wheel steer, and it was ...
