Re: Your fleet running reports
Replaced all the coils and plugs on the Volvo as I had a slight misfire under load on cyl4, old plugs well past their best, all back to normal now. Next up is fitting the new rear discs, pads and shoes, finally getting the rest of the exhaust made up and fitted and fitting my new steering rack and f...

Re: Looking at buying a MX5
I test drove a 2.0 and it was nice, felt a bit soft but that's easily remedied.
Flows very well between corners, nice low seating position shame there isn't more adjustment on the steering wheel.
Just looking for a decent one now

Re: Looking at buying a MX5
FI kit is about 5k, I'd happily pay for the 200hp kit if I gel with the car. I'm not adverse to modifying cars, the 308 is the only standard car I've ever had. I thought about a Boxster, but more road tax, higher purchase price, more fuel costs and higher parts costs should stuff go wrong. I also th...

Re: Looking at buying a MX5
Ah cheers John, I bet yours is a bit quicker than a standard one! I'm liking that they are a bit more refined seemingly and will do for childless weekends away if required and they are obviously a lot safer thank the earlier cars. Thanks for the advice i'll certainly be having a good look for any ru...

Looking at buying a MX5
I'm thoroughly bored of the 308 now, it's good on petrol, and not much else. I need something to commute about 40 miles a day in that's reliable, and can fit the car seat in so I can take my boy to his grandparents/nursery in a morning. I don't want to spend any money if I can help it, so trade in t...

Re: What haven't you done
I've never been to a music concert. Never been to a GP, despite watching them since the late 1980s (and visiting Silverstone, Spa, Monaco and the Nurburgring) Never been to watch a WRC race, despite driving many mountain stages. Haven't been to LM24 yet. Never owned a motorbike with more than one c...

Re: 2005 Sharan - what do we know?
A v70 with rear facing seats would probably do this job and be more reliable, and nicer to drive.

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.
I want a Swift Sport 5dr or maybe a FN2 Civic Type R to replace the Peugeot.
And a Citroen C6 to replace the Volvo in my head, but as that would be very foolish I think it will stay there
They are very cool though.

It's free to park in most of the places we go around Richmond/Leyburn/Bedale, we just have a disc to use through the week.
But Hospitals at home here in the Skipton/aire valley area, they can take a ruñning jump, the cunts, £4.60 for an hour!

Re: Your fleet running reports
Fitted Mini Cooper S coil packs to the 308 last week, just because I had spares and they are shielded rather than just rubber. Wasn't expecting any change but it couldn't hurt. Instantly it's removed the stupid throttle response and flat spot it had and as a bonus of raising my average MPG by 1.4 al...

Yep my cat puts her paw in the water bowl then licks the water off her paw.
She also likes to lick the froth off of your beer if you put your glass on the sodding floor.

Decent Recent TV
Gomorrah on Sky Atlantic, best thing I've seem since The Wire and Sopranos, very good, it is in Italian and subtitled though.
Also started Orange is the new Black, which had a good 1st season, but the second seems to have started a bit slowly.

Re: Your fleet running reports
I only know of two other 968s that it's happened to, so I think it's a relatively rare problem. But for companies to sell replacement cogs, maybe it's not? There has always been people saying that if you reset the trip meter while the car is in motion, it can strip teeth off the cogs...not sure if ...
