That's not far from me, and cheaper than some in the area.

Re: The House Projects Thread
That'd also work well as an AirBnB type place.
Although 2nd bedroom doesn't need a window it won't get signed off as a bedroom without one, so couldn't be marketed as a 2 bed flat in the future

Depending on the size of the rooms, and how much work you want to put in:
Keep the back bedroom
Turn bathroom and kitchen into 2nd bedroom
Pinch the top part of the living room to create a shower room
Remove chimney breast from living room to help add an L shaped kitchen
Remove dividing wall ...

Re: Bye Bye Rachel Reeves
Indeed. And likely lower pay rises, etc.
Edit: possibly those employers who are generous enough to offer an amount great than the auto enrollment minimum but re-think, so potentially a reduction there

Re: Bye Bye Rachel Reeves
Yes, but the amount you sacrifice still goes fully into your pension. You (and your employer) just get a hit in the pocket, unless you decide to reduce your contributions, which may well happen of course. I'd bet the bigger knock on effect will be how employers try and save the extra NI costs that ...

Re: Bye Bye Rachel Reeves
It's been poorly explained by the govt. but it shouldn't result in less going into your pension, unless your employer was giving you the NI savings as well, surely?

Re: Cycling Thread
Closest we've had in recent years was 2020 when Pogacar got the better of Roglic on the penultimate stage TT and took the race lead.

Re: Cycling Thread
I enjoyed that! Great crowds, good to see there were no accidents. The wet weather added another dimension - as Ned and David said, WvA was able to take more risks on the downhill wet bits - as well as having less to lose than TP at that point (he still had to finish, right, to win the GC, even ...

Re: Cycling Thread
It was originally 120km or so, now down to 95km-ish.
It does lend itself to more attacking racing, especially between Red bull & PostalNI, but UAE & Visma will probably want to try and control things
Still, should be a good watch again

Re: Cycling Thread
I reckon Lipo & Onley, and Roglic to an extent fighting it out as well. There's still the Col du Pre & Cormet de Roseland first, so UAE and Visma going full gas up those will thin things out pretty quickly leaving the leaders to fight it out to the finsh if they want. Will be interesting to see ...

Shortened stage today, reckon it'll be flat out racing to the finish.

He properly took him out.
One of the comments suggested a baton through the spokes would be the better option
Couple of big mountain days coming up, Vingegaard will be going on the attack for sure.

Re: Cycling Thread
Cheers. Did the Hautacam and Tourmalet a couple of years ago as well, so I enjoyed watching those this year.
I recon Pog will want the stage win on Ventoux as a minimum, it'd be an iconic image round the last bend and up to the summit in the yellow jersey.

Re: Cycling Thread
Rode up it a couple of weeks ago, can confirm it takes a bit of effort. 🥵
I think Pogacar will want more stage wins if he can which will possibly take more out of Vingegaard. If he stays fit and competitive then Cavs record will probably go, as will the record for overall victories.
And how crazy ...
