Re: Restomod Esprit

Some more insights / details from the Intercooler.

400bhp
Under 1200kg
Circa £500k (inc donor car)
Plan for run of 50 cars

Idea of a better built Esprit is great. BUT.
For half a million English pounds those specs are completely underwhelming.
The V8 is so unloved (especially at Hethel) that ...

Re: Decent car YouTubes

Targa Tasmania is back after 3 years in the *ahem* wilderness after a number of deaths and a falling out with Australia's main motorsport body.

Whilst the rules seem to have been made stricter and speed limits imposed the fact the lead three cars are a R35 GTR, an Exige V6 and a Viper ACR is ...

Re: Gaming 2023

The thing that makes me slightly uneasy about Steam Machine 2 is that "4k 60fps" claim which has quite a whiff of marketroid BS.

AMDs FSR scaling needs to take a collosal leap forward from its current ugly state to be acceptable imho.

New VR headset, controller and gaming box from Valve for 2026 is exciting and has the potential to suck up all discretionary spending for the year.

If the VR is priced against the Quest 3 it'll be a preorder for me.

Re: 3D Printing

At the other end of the scale my BiL worked for a company that was trying to scale 3D printing to make full-size buildings.

I'd love for building printing to hit mass use (as of yesterday) as house building costs are absolutely nuts here (and seems like everywhere), as much as I'd like to push ...

Predator badlands even stupider and more sanitised than you might expect but, I still enjoyed it.

Really really REALLY turn off your brain and the fight sequences are decent and bits are very very funny.

Deleting a post about Predator badlands coz I'm not awake yet.

I've been watching the very silly Miracle Workers with Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi. It's very hit and miss but just weird and silly enough and doesn't outstay its welcome at 20 minutes an episode. Peaks in episodes where ...

Re: Doom Eternal

Just over a month to finish on medium difficulty.

It had its moments of very satisfying combos to take down hordes but a lot of the time just felt like button mashing and hope.

Marauders with their infinite shield and hound nearly made me rage quit especially when they turned up at the end of a ...

Partially false as sunset here is current 8pm so three and half hours later than UK slightly different vibe to trick or treating which is generally bright and warm to hot. But some suburbs had a lot of kids wandering around which was nice to see, whatever the (misplaced) Yankee connotations.

Anybody else think the exhaust note was a bit crap?

I always think that about e-types. Very underwhelming on anything with a "sporty" exhaust. Ironically the standard more muted version on the normal e-type I drove was preferable. I'm sure someone must be able to "tune" it to have a less ...
