@Maurice - very nice. Is there significance of the “lightning” second hand, or just a styling feature?
The watch is anti-magnetic and I guess Rolex added the lightning bolt to emphasise the fact. I don't think some of the earlier models had it though.

Lovely watch 8-)

The Daily Mail once lifted something I posted on boatshoes and printed it as a "source".

She must have been in a bad place but to be honest it didn't come as a total surprise to me when I heard the news :(

Re: Bicyclist thread

I've bought another bike  https://i.imgur.com/Mz8q9DV.jpg A Trek Procalber hardtail 29er which is a first for me at that wheel size. It has something called an Isospeed decoupler which allows the seat down tube to flex slightly as it isn't solidly fixed to the top tube. I haven't ridden it yet...

Re: The ebay thread

My neighbour had a new one for a company car for a couple of years and he moaned about it constantly. According to him it was under powered and the worst ride of any car he'd owned. Looked nice though.

Re: Your fleet running reports

7 update - having read the fault codes it's looking like it's the glow plug controller rather than glow plug(s). Which is good news as it's slightly cheaper, and doesn't require me to strip the intake system down ! It also explains why the car went from perfect to bag-o-shite in one step. With one ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The Vito steering wheel is a horrible plastic/rubber thing so I’ve been keeping an eye out for a leather replacement but haven’t had much luck. I decided to get a standard wheel and send it off to Royal Steering Wheels for a re-trim. It arrived this week and I fitted it today, very happy with it. ht...

Surprisingly Swinton Insurance are very good for my supercharged mx5. The online quote page has a tick list of modifications you fill in then they send you a price, all very simple.

One of the finest films ever made is on Film 4 tonight at 11.20pm, Dead Man's Shoes. It's grim but unmissable in my opinion, Paddy Considine is on top form.

This is the sort of semi affordable car that piques my interest and I think the last car to do that was the Clio v6. Be interesting to see what other manufacturers do.

The motorhome (Fiat Ducato) is due a cam belt change, it's the first time I've owned a vehicle for a long enough time to need one. It looks a right pain to do so I shall let a garage have the pleasure.

I couldn't remember but since trawling through the photos on my phone it was VX220 and VW T5. I've had loads since and now have the supercharged mx5 and Mercedes Vito so quite similar.
