Re: Your fleet running reports

Apple have definitely updated Carplay so it scales icons etc to suit the car screen - that's probably the difference.

Annoyingly I find the larger icons obscure things on the maps now so I'm not massively pleased with the change
ah, so it is a “new” thing. The van has a fairly small screen ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The carplay on the van was always “ok”, the text was always a bit too big and when you do a search, the keyboard covered most of the results.

I got a new phone and paired it today, suddenly all the fonts/text boxes are the right size and the whole thing looks and works so much better. I don’t know ...

Trump/America have been absolute insane over the last few days. Almost too much to get your head around between Venezuela and shooting citizens and lying about it.

Re: Holiday prices

If you want cheap getaways and you don’t mind city breaks go to Poland.

I priced up a trip in September for me and the wife, flying into Wroclaw, staying in a really nice central apartment with Airbnb for 4 days, then getting on a train to Krakow and staying there for 3 days, again in a really ...

Re: Holiday prices

You're all doing it wrong, last time I went to Italy I paid about £150 for return flights and about £50 a night for a little private villa overlooking the sea
Yep, that’s the difference when you’re paying for a whole family and including all the costs of the holiday.

it must have been one ...

Re: Holiday prices

Yep, we've always booked Flights separately and got our own Villa.

We've done this for the last couple of years and it's worked well / decent value. However this year is the first year we'll have to contend with school holidays. Just gonna leave it late I think.

Going further afield makes a ...

I'm also feeling the sharp end of this right now as we've just come back from a ski holiday between Christmas and New Year. We don't ski (but were going primarily so my son can start to learn) so had to buys shedloads of kit and the cost of everything is mental across kit hire, £70pp per day lift ...

Crazy isn’t it. 4 years ago we went to some shitty all inclusive in spain, in term time and it was around £2.2k for the 3 of us for a week or so. A few years later we looked again, and the same place for a week in school holiday time was £4.5k!

There’s no fucking way i’m spending that sort of ...

Pfffft

You're never actually in charge of FECPOTY. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Actually, that's a good point, I got my 968 back on the road in 2025. I could have finished in 3rd if I only posted a pic of it in the FECPOTY 25 thread.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Ordered some Kumho (which I'll continue to pronounce coo-mo) Ecsta Sport PS72's which have got some decent reviews in recent tests. Fitting Friday.

I couldn't get hold of any Rainsport 5's, which are my primary choice, and PS5's are needlessly expensive for a city runabout, so should be decent ...
