This view is from the hallway and there should be a wall and a doorway between the camera and the bathroom :o

Re: That there London

i go to London every couple of weeks - i really don’t see these issues! i usually ride a lime bike from waterloo to farringdon and it’s a lovely place to be in my experience. i walked to St pancras the other day and again, it was a nice pleasant walk.

Re: Lotus Carlton 35yr anniversary

I enjoy a car meet and a chinwag with similarly minded others, but I'm not sure how quickly you'd run out of chat when everyone has the same vehicle?

To be fair, there’s always something to chat about with fellow Lotus owners - how did you fix that? What’s wrong with that? What can i do ...

Re: The House Projects Thread

that looks pretty disgusting, but it makes life pretty straightforward- you’re keeping nothing.

that means you can happily lift up that flooring that looks a bit damp or rip out an old cabinet to see what’s behind without having to worry about damaging anything.

Pay someone else to get rid of all ...

Re: The House Projects Thread

they’re the builders, they’re the experts. the more detail you include, the better, but do you know/care what brand of plaster or the spec of cabling? nope, you just want working sockets in the right locations on smooth walls and a certificate to say it’s been done correctly.

Re: The House Projects Thread

Yep, i’ve quoted plenty of £5m+ projects from CAD drawn layouts with hand marked up packages (referred to as “red pen packs” in my industry because they are/were often hand drawn). i did my own house that way too.

just print off x copies and do each trade package on a page. lighting, power ...

Re: The House Projects Thread

if you’re not changing the layout, what are you planning?

strip out
electrics
heating
plastering
kitchen
bathroom
decs
flooring

Just get a decent layout drawn up by a draughtsman (you can probably do it yourself with an app these days) then mark your what you want in each room. It’s not going to ...

Re: Harry’s Garage

Not too hard to argue with those choices - they’re cars that have done their bit and all now have competition in the collection - though i think the only real issue with that V12 jag is the colour. Maybe if it was more fitting colour it would have more appeal and wouldn’t be leaving.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

G wagens line the streets of certain areas of london, so an EV one that isn’t chucking out the pollution of a big V8 locally seems like the perfect solution. Then putting some new swanky trinkets and badges to show everyone you have the latest thing and a massive price tag and you have the perfect ...

ScottA and I have discussed several times that one of these would make an interesting track toy.

You’re never going to be the fastest car on track, but 200bhp in a tweaked MX5 should be plenty quick enough to be entertaining, whilst being easy on all the consumables.

i presume the “box” behind the roll bars (they’re the seat backs looking again) is the fuel tank? that looks remarkably “whole” compared to everything around it!

Shame he’s painted it black - the colour scheme was the best thing about it!

I think that was just a prep coat - he’s keeping the original colour AFAIK

You can get decent looking late 80s/early 90’s 2 door ones for around 30-40k, the performance will be 0-60 in about 4-6 working days but if you want a retro looking g wagon why pay over £100,000 more just to pootle around London at 25mph
