Re: EV Thread

That is the biggest downfall. At home - 8p; the Tesla network isn't too bad - 23-24p off peak, 44p peak but elsewhere is the wild-west.

For my needs 95%+ charging I can do at home so works out favourably at the moment.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Sunday night, around 10pm, and tonight, at a similar time which must be a coincidence, the Yeti alarm has triggered. On Sunday I went round reopened / checked the doors were all closed again, locked it up, no more random alarms until tonight. Any ideas what that could be. Battery playing up? A ...

Re: EV Thread

Tesla are adding £3750 to any trade-in at the moment as an incentive. It does make the prospect of upgrading to a long-range AWD quite tempting.

(wall charger still broken btw, waiting to hear on warranty claim)

I looked at the trade-in but couldn't pass on the 20k dump on a 2 year old one ...

Good channel on the toob if you're interested to get more into the workings - 3brown1blue. Has a series on Neural networks, certainly an eye opener for me.

I am pretty impressed with some of the stuff I have been able to generate quite quickly with Gemini Flash and Agent dev kit (ADK). Very little ...

Re: Graphical upgrades

An LLM will do the hard work for you: What would be a sensible upgrade for my PC based on the below spec (in the UK)

Summary (what I’d do in your exact situation)
Priority order:

✅ Upgrade GPU → RTX 4060
✅ Add 1–2TB NVMe SSD
➕ Consider 32GB RAM later

Leave CPU alone for now—it’ll hold up fine ...

Skoda Superb sold after 7 trusty years and a relatively low 60k odd faultless miles. Bought for 14k, sold for 7.4, not too offensive. Other than servicing and two glow plugs 0 issues.

Now gay and drive a Tesla Y. Initial impressions are good, base rwd model but still circa 300bhp. Bought 3 ...

I would suggest splitting, parts go for good money on ebay.

Re: EV Thread

Tesla rwd long range test drive today. Hate to say it but I liked. Nice cabin finish, rapid, handling ok and a nice place to be on the motorway.

Not a fan of gear selection being a drag option on screen but otherwise all good.

Re: M5 test drive report and new car thread

~20 miles to work this morning, battery only half full because I don't have a second EV charger at home yet and the granny lead I bought isn't long enough to reach any suitable socket (doh). At least the granny lead works for charging at the office.

93.5mpg with the EV bits averaging 2.4mi/kWh ...

Re: Holiday prices

I've left it very late then last two years and seen significant drops in prices. The only challenge has been, some preferred options being more limited.

Agreed, not paying that amount for a week in Europe but there are indeed people doing it, I know a few. It's mental.

I look at the price before, wait for sale, confirm it was the same price before and regret not buying it earlier :D

Surely EVERY person who has an EV expects to end up paying road tax in some form sooner or later?

Of course but in my case it means paying the new VED rates and then this Per Mile charge, which adds hundreds to the annual costs in a short space of time. Just annoying when I'm getting rinsed ...

The trick is I think not treating it like a search engine, and the more wordy you are with your prompts the more helpful it is.

I was at the Azure Dev Conference recently and Microsoft were jamming their agentic AI down our throats for 3 days solid. Feels like they've got all their eggs in this ...

I do like an Alpina and have come close to buying one a couple of times. I've probably mentioned this before but weirdly they occasionally pop up at TK Maxx.

A couple of my watches are well overdue a service but they get worn so infrequently I'm not bothering.

I picked one up on TK for sub ...

Superb rear parking sensors failed, parking assist not available. Plugged in obdeleven which confirmed far right sensor not working.

Fortunately able to get at from underneath via under tray, replacement part ordered off eBay £19, reset error code and back up and running 8-)

That 992 GTS with buckets is being sold by Epicurean. Is that Gavster? I doubt he’s offering a full 2yr official warranty.

The seats - even the passenger’s - look surprisingly worn for 10k miles. I’d discount it even ignoring my PDK preference ( which is absolute - I’m not getting a manual ...

Add Yodel to the list. A nice pair of shoes haven't turned up. Apparently couldn't find my house that's been here since 1990s. That was 5 days ago.
