Re: The motorway services thread.
Always wondered how Rugby compares to the newer Gloucester or Beaconsfield setups, anyone done a full tour of the “nice” ones lately? I still have trauma from Watford Gap circa 2004, so I’m cautious by nature

The best part was the Lego parade lap.
I was surprised that the FIA didn’t throw out a safety car at every opportunity. They usually like to do one even for no reason at all when in the USA.
The McLaren is mighty and Piastri wasn’t pushing once he built his buffer. Reckon it could have finished ...

Re: The resurgence of vinyl
I hope that was just a defective cartridge but the lack of quality control in checking it doesn’t give a lot of confidence. I imagine you’ll be looking at the replacement pretty carefully before using it.
As for the design of the arm, well there hasn’t been a lot of development in the turntable ...

Re: Mental Health
The hardest conversation I had with a therapist was trying to explain why I didn’t like them lol took me months to build up to that convo
Yeaaah... that moment where you’re basically in therapy for the anxiety of having to talk to your therapist 😅 It’s wild how something that sounds so ...

Re: Elon Musk/Tesla
I wonder if engineers deliberately make it shit to spite him, like selecting the wrong glue for the panels, a bit like Citroen making longer dipsticks in the trucks they made for the German army in ww2
Wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case, honestly. Tesla’s build quality issues sometimes ...

Re: Drugs don’t work
Legalised weed would be good as I’ve seen the effects of the other side of it - teenagers employed by gangs to distribute it and that’s a sure way to ruin a young persons life.
However I have zero faith that it would work in this country because they’d tax weed at such a high rate that the ...

Re: Insurance (general moaning thread)
Oh man, I feel your pain! Insurance is now the present that just keeps on giving from the perspective of the insurer, not the policyholder. The things they promise you never fail to take every opportunity they get to make the prices higher than before. Well, they increase just for the car by 20 ...

Re: First shotgun refurb
That’s awesome! I am glad to see you directly learn like that, without hesitation. That wood cut work came out great after all that sanding and oiling of the wood and the metal reblue also I feel did justice. Oh yes I was with you all the way and now I understand why you have some special affection ...

Re: Racing rigs?
I’ve got a racing rig too! Actually, I’ve been using Playseat Challenge for some time now, as you mentioned it’s affordable but if you want to go to something more solid I’d recommend GT Omega ART or Next Level Racing. These are slightly more rigid and have provision for much better adjustment ...
Re: CBD oil
I tried CBD oil for some anxiety and chronic pain issues, and the effects were quite good. I didn’t notice immediate changes, but over time I felt that I managed stress much better and became much calmer.

Re: 2015 Was A Good Year: McLaren 650S Spider & Ferrari F12
Quite an array – two dream cars of the same year! Somehow, the F12 should feel like a rocket even today and the 650S Spider has only got better with time. In what way does this differ? Is one more pleasing than the other for certain type of drives?

Re: Weird one - is there something a bit like google earth…
Hey, that's a cool idea! You could try SketchUp — the basic version is free plus it allows you to bring in as information from Google Earth to placing and modeling the 3D info. Although it may not be perfect, one could always try to model the sheds into the landscape in order to have that feel ...

Re: New car day
Hope this is clear to everyone: Good job, stepson, on getting that car! The Kia Xceed must be a wise move now considering the warrantee and relatively inexpensive to maintain vehicles. It’s good when you can get this kind of product that’s good and cheap. Even if he is not too keen a car lover, I ...
