Re: Wales 20mph limit
As bad as Islington. I went to park on a regular on-street bay for 1 hour, opened RingGo, added the bay number (61562) which said about £7 an hour, went through to the final screen and it said £14.25. For one hour, because diesel. On a residential street in Islington. FML.
Are you sure it ...

Re: That there London
Yeah I think a lot of major cities have had it much worse than we have.
Yeah, Los Angeles is fricking wild, if anyone thinks homelessness is bad here, they should see LA in the wintertime. The entire Skid Row neighbourhood - not just one street - is a campsite, far worse than anything I've ever ...

Twenty years ago the largest collection of scrap fridges in Europe existed just down the road from me and now it’s gone with a massive stadium which hosts some amazing concerts on one side and Sadler’s Wells theatre on the other.
Bring back the fridges!

They're quite normal reasonable people when you meet them, it's just that the guy has an absolute obsession with being right, even when he's completely wrong. He'd fit in here

Re: The House Projects Thread
I was sympathetic to them at first, but the longer it went on, the more it became clear they have zero intention of doing what the courts have been telling them to do. They've definitely had more than enough opporutnity to sort things out.

Re: Randomness
My E-Class was turned into an Amsterdam Coffeeshop at Heathrow Park and Ride.
Little baggies on the floor, torn up pieces of Rizzla packets, radio re-tuned to some London pirate station.
Never again
Damn, that's crazy!
It also makes me glad I used the Heathrow park and ride last week where ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
that looks pretty disgusting, but it makes life pretty straightforward- you’re keeping nothing.
that means you can happily lift up that flooring that looks a bit damp or rip out an old cabinet to see what’s behind without having to worry about damaging anything.
Pay someone else to get rid ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
Cheers mik and while it does sound like a big moment, it's more like the beginning of the final chapter. Believe it or not, there's a slim chance we could end up back in court once more. The chances of that are thankfully getting slimmer by the day because we believe the neighbours don't have a leg ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
To be fair at least there won’t be any nasty surprises because you know everything is going to need to be done, and I’d be happy if every bathroom I started looked like that, when they’ve been done well and maintained well they’re harder to strip out
And stud walls go up easy enough if you ...

Does this mean that the legal stuff is over, the flat is yours, and they're out?
Nearly. The last 8 months have been a crazy drama with a load of developments which I’ve not shared here.
However, as of 4pm today, legal posession of the property has reverted to the freeholder, I.e. me. They ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
if you’re not changing the layout, what are you planning?
strip out
electrics
heating
plastering
kitchen
bathroom
decs
flooring
Just get a decent layout drawn up by a draughtsman (you can probably do it yourself with an app these days) then mark your what you want in each room. It’s not going ...

His videos have a combined 31 million views in the last 30 days across his two channels which is probably in the region of £150k ad revenue, plus each brand integration would be paying something like £20k per video for two videos per month. So that's around £200k a month, plus all the other income ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
It's a really hard call tbh. One approach is get it done to a fairly basic spec with almost no changes, because that's going to limit the renovation cost and therefore also limit the financial risk.
