Re: The House Projects Thread

It is a lot, however I can understand it from a legal perspective. Because of the gravity of the situation meaning they face eviction and loss of their home, the court will bend over backwards to make sure that they have properly considered any applications. It doesn’t help that the neighbours are ...

Re: The House Projects Thread

Believe it or not, I’m back in court again tomorrow. Think this might be the seventh hearing now. Maybe eighth. I’ve lost count

The whole thing is a mess and counsel’s note says “The proceedings have a convoluted procedural history" which is an understatement

Anyway, the application ...

Re: Parents car you hated most as a kid

It wasn't hated, just the bottom of the pile, the Austin Montego Estate. It's ownership was sandwiched between Cortina/Granada estates and then some Carlton estates after that, but the Montego always felt like the lame duck amongst all of those. I think it was dark blue. Dad bought it at auction ...

I think we should each get one and sort out a meet.
Great idea, we could do passenger rides too :D

I had a friend who was a top cadet and went straight into Sandhurst at 18 as an officer, then got kicked out for drinking too much. The mind boggles.

Potentially single man walks into the pub, two attractive women and one man (separately) try to start up conversations; I talk about death of past girlfriend, wars and European reticence, plus gays not being allowed in the military until recently yeah…… (what the f is wrong with you!?)

Hope you ...

After Penguin were no longer allowed to be called a chocolate bar and the Halal stupidity it's been all change at home.

The rule is essentially if you cannot buy all the original ingredients, it's not eaten. Now when out it can't be followed but when at home it's proving surprisingly easy. The ...

It's a piss take, especially all the chocolate based stuff being replaced with god knows what horrible substitutes. The price of wholesale cocoa has fallen for over a year

I’m doing a vid about Easter shrinkflation and asked a bunch of big manufacturers why they have increased the price ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Had a great blast today, mid-afternoon from Edinburgh down to Newcastle via the A68 and A696, the latter of whcih was spookily quiet and good fun to drive. Fairly fast, clear sight lines, open corners and no speed cameras. Spent most of the time whizzing up down and around the curves and yumps along ...

'Lower end' :D IIRC Steve's M5 was the lowest priced F10 in the UK, and high mileage too. And yes, @IanF I think that's all part of the fun for him

Being Gordon Ramsey

Really enjoyed this as they followed him and his family while he set up the restaurants at the top of 22 Bishopsgate. Seems he's very lucky to have a really lovely family life (when he's there), is surprisngly grounded and I hugely admire his unstoppable energy, he's constantly ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Just to back up what SJ said, the Merc with the dodgy discs hardly gets used. Our parents still have about 6 cars and most of their journeys are very local, so they use the little Nissan Pao for a lot of them, and my dad for some reason loves his old Saab converible, despite it being pretty awful. I ...

Re: Smart Plugs - recommendations?

Does anyone use Matter to control smart plugs/bulbs etc?

I'm amassing a bunch of different smart plugs/bulbs etc and want to get some more, but I'm gonna end up with three different manufacturers and I don't want to use three apps to control them. Ideally want to be able to run them through one app ...

Did anyone see Fred Again at the weekend? I'd gone off him recently, felt like after the original hype at the start of the decade it fell off a bit. However, everything I'm seeing from hid live show at Alexandra Palace looks like he's managed to merge genres and generations of all kinds of artists ...

AI deffo has that bubble feel to it, the founder of crypto.com just bought the domain name ai.com for $70m. Clearly mental. AI will be a utility in 10 years time and margins will be down the the wire. Mito's right though, in a gold rush, sell shovels.
