I’m referring to Porsche themselves, not the dealers. So the people in Reading and the VAG overlords.

Re: Porsche's finances
I really want to like the Taycan. Or at least the idea of it. Can’t quite get there in my head though. I swore blind I wouldn’t buy another Porsche and I probably won’t. They are so very good to drive though. Just wish they weren’t run by such a group of smug bastards.

Re: Porsche's finances
Slightly different take on this one. After the way they treated me over my Panamera debacle, exhibiting something along the lines of ‘There is always another customer’ attitude, part of me thinks ‘what goes around comes around’. If they’ve misread the market then it may be time for a readjustment of ...

Re: How far would you go to help the Police?
Sounds like a a bit of a farce but I’d have phoned it in too. Whether I’d have then followed for that distance I’m not so sure tbh.
Have phoned in a few times last couple of years. Folks parked up in iffy locations or broken down around blind bends, that sort of thing. I’ve often wondered whether ...

I don’t agree with it, much as I like tech. Just because they can use tech to do it doesn’t always mean they should.

Re: Doorbell Camera GDPR Madness
As of yesterday (first use for a month or so) I have to accept GDPR-style notices in the BMW app if/when using the Remote Camera feature.
We will eventually legislate ourselves out of existence.

Re: Haribo Wine Gums
I was late to Hawkstone, only bought some last month. It’s good stuff!
Finally made it to The Farmers Dog a few weeks ago, which is relevant because it’s only about three miles from the house. Bought a case of Hawkstone, jolly tasty. We’re booked in for lunch next month too, planning on having ...

Re: Haribo Wine Gums
I got a large Toblerone. Standard large one if that makes sense, not those 4.5kg jobbies I’ve seen perched on high at the local Morrisons, threatening the integrity of the shelving.
That was yesterday. And it’s gone already

Re: Interlinked Smoke & Heat Alarms
For a day or two I was convinced the smoke alarm on our top floor at the house needed a new battery. Replaced it, and that short, sharp high-pitched ‘beep’ was still in evidence.
I then realised it was my office chair (office is 15 ft from the device) squeaking and making the exact same noise, same ...

Re: Google Maps traffic data issues
Even after a couple of updates, my BMW nav insists the road out of my town is closed due to roadworks and has been for about three years

Re: M2 CS
Yes. Or does sporty need to be really shouty? 1M wasn’t so in-yer-face for example.
Re: M2 CS
Elegance is dead. And I’d worry about stones taking out the coolers.
Re: Tools
Yep it’s mad. She turns 15 in August.
Re: Tools
I’m also aware that I need to plan for at least oil changes for our daughter’s Mini when she passes her test at 17. That’s her plan anyway…
Re: Tools
Full servicing, brakes for example, no. Suspension components also, no. Same for any drive belts. But I know enough to recognise that halving oil change intervals is a good thing as an engine ages. So I’ll continue to get BMW to do major services and replace discs and pads etc. But I’ll do interim ...
Re: Tools
Brother in law paid a visit yesterday. Got chatting about this whilst stood in the garage. Started off discussing the Halfords gear he’s got and by the time we’d finished, we’d lengthened the garage by 6 feet, widened it by 4 feet, fitted sheeting on the walls off which to hang tools, nailed a hose ...
Re: Tools
Wonder if the B58 offers up another alternative to upper extraction, considering the lack of dipstick. More reading needed. Halfords indeed seem to the best bet. Big price ranges everything from 20 to 250 quid.
