Re: Your fleet running reports
Yes, it has a panoramic roof unfortunately. Would have preferred one without but was standard fit on the 4.8.
It’s broken, like most of them are so both motors are disconnected to save it jamming open, which is going to make it a bit awkward to open it to poke the drains!
Anyway, cleaned ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
That 1.3 Endura engine was fucking awful though  it was all noise, vibration and no power.
I think by that time it probably only cost Ford about 50p to make them, given that the same engine had been around for so long with a different name when they altered the fuelling.
My first normal ...

FECPOTY 05?
I can’t remember what other people on the forum bought that year though 😅
I bought my Clio v6 :)
21 years ago
I bought a focus 1.8!
I didn't buy anything in '05 , but worked my way through three company cars -
XC90 T6 SE
C70 2.4T Cab
XC90 D5 SE
Is it sad that ...

The X5 is on winters to go skiing. The mountain roads were fine (no snow for a week), but we were driving through this near Reims a couple of hours ago -

It's years since I've driven one, but seem to recall that the pedal spacing on Clio 182s wasn't great for H+T

Re: Your fleet running reports
Nice. 8-)
Hopefully the gear lever is easier to use than the Manuel Supra I tried (where the centre console required a very “elbow high” arm position that I didn’t love).
Saw a Supra today with the yellow DRLs that are spreading across every BMW.. :?
I had a guy approach me when I got ...
Re: Chris Rea
Met him a few of times - he was a good mate of my classic car boss, who grew up with him. He always used to turn up in the showroom for a drink and a chat at Christmas.
Came across as a really nice guy, and had a few fun car stories from when they were teenagers.

Re: Your fleet running reports
I'd be impressed if it still wore R2CWS, which is on the X5 parked in front!
I still have the MT55WTN plates that I took off when doing the plate transfer.
You got me thinking about R2CWS -
I've had it since 2008, when I bought an £800 part exchange blue E36 323i that had worn it from new ...

I found some photos from March 2015 when I was putting it on Autotrader. At some
Point in the last 10 years the wheels have been swapped out for a very similar style, but otherwise it was identical to how I sold it, including the E46 ZHP gear knob.
You're not fooling us - that's a different ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Not my current fleet, but I parked behind Tate Modern today to pick up my daughter and when I returned to the car a 325 touring was parked behind, which was my wife’s car 2012-5, and I think we sold it on Autotrader to someone in Somerset.
What are the chances of that?!

Re: Car Hire Lottery
Plenty of stories/pics around of dealers missing the e transit blocks during the PDI. And the result is usually as you describe.
When I was in the trade it used to happen in two different ways -
1. When the sales team would 'un-wrap' a stock car and get it cleaned for the showroom, without ...

Re: Am I reading this sign correctly?
Yes, permit holders 6:30 to 8pm.
ETA: unless other signs, you can park on single yellow lines after 1830
Weirdly Ringo lets you pay on that code until 10pm!
Unless there's a Controlled Parking Zone sign with different hours, as others have said it's still free after 6.30.
The one I've not ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
Depending on the size of the rooms, and how much work you want to put in:
Keep the back bedroom
Turn bathroom and kitchen into 2nd bedroom
Pinch the top part of the living room to create a shower room
Remove chimney breast from living room to help add an L shaped kitchen
Remove dividing wall ...

Re: Any Sparky's in the house
Ok but would there be any major re-wiring etc or would it be limited to work in/around the board/box only??
Cheers Jim - really appreciate the expertise
Depends on your wiring. It’s really common to find houses with this type of board don’t have any earth wiring in the lighting circuits ...

Unfortunately you'll have to bin that whole board and start again.dinny_g wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 10:49 am I don't know what image sharing sites still work in the UK but try this link to Amazon Photos...

Re: Any Sparky's in the house
I asked this before when I bought the house but can't find the response.
Our place has a fuse wire set-up, rather than Trip Switches (which I think is odd as the house was only built in 1986 but hey ho) and I'd like to get it changed. So far, touch wood, we haven't had any go but I'd sooner have ...

Given the options do you go for:
1. PSS
2. PS4S but rear star marked and front not
3. PS4S but neither axle star marked
2 or 3.
But I also fitted non n-rated tyres to our 944S2.
It’s over twenty years ago, so not necessarily how they do it now, but I did a training day at Prodrive ...

Re: The House Projects Thread
@Mito Man Totally that, I'm sure the cost of this work has gone up by at least 20% in the last ~5 years from what people in the neighbourhood have told me. Doing the work sooner, even though I don't need it, could have financial benefits.
It's an opportunity to live/work somewhere else for a ...
