My name is Jimmy and I have IBS issues.

Bloody BMW decided to put an intelligent battery sensor in the E60. Sadly, it's caught Donny T's dementia and been very very not intelligent. Firstly it threw a voltage issue and needed the negative cable from the battery replaced and then spat it's dummy ...

It's great. It adds to the novelty and is surprisingly easy to get use to. First few outings were admittedly quite tricky (plus it's a manual) but after that it was plain sailing.

I've recently loaded the autotrader price checker plugin on my laptop and I'm starting to wonder whether dealers are using automated plugins or algorithms to match prices to what is "market" on a continual basis, including when other similarly spec'd cars get listed at higher prices.

30 mins run time - kids have it good these days. Remember when they lasted 5 mins and begging for AA batteries or waiting 8 hours for them to recharge.

I haven't driven the 125 for a few weeks because the battery was on the way out. Finally got around to swapping it this morning and my reward was the top hose popping off on the radiator on the way to drop the kids at school!
Sitting working from the car waiting for it to cool down now to see if I ...

I was browsing the movie thread for inspiration and lots of old names were popping up and I wondered if anyone knew what they were doing now? Examples were, David Yu, JL, Preacher, Broccers(although he could have exploded with his own rage) etc.

I haven't caught up with David in person for a ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've had a 2004 5-series which needed a replacement IBS and it still started and ran - it gave battery codes. And that was at ~7 years old. A healthy IBS is going to be a rare thing on any 10+yr old car.

I ran the X5 without an IBS for about six months, after it failed and discharged the car ...

Fun, but I prefer the no-nonsense Carwow drag races. And the M2 seemed a bit pointless; it needed to be 4wd for off the line traction, and there was no logic to it being 300ft up the road.

It's like a group C car where you don't have to worry about smooth roads.

A bit surprised at the oil temp issue as you can have some very simple things to maintain a good temp.

Just a few times per drive to be able to stretch that engine right to the redline would be amazing. Awesome 😎

My Dad has never had a car that I've hated, but a couple that I was disappointed with because they didn't live up to expectations, or were sold too soon -

Merc 200E W123
Merc 280SL
XR3i 1985
Merc 280GE (bought new in 1987, way before they became a thing)
XR3i 1988
XJS 3.6 (the disappointing one ...

That's handy to know, ta. Averages are a bit meaningless as they - obviously - depend very much on a person's "average" day. But "best" is going to be 60-70mph motorway and that's more repeatable between ...

In "oh bollocks" news, the ML needs a gearbox rebuild. It shifts lovely, smooth, as quick as it always has but when doing a gearbox oil change it had brass in there and I've got a bit of a whine. 170,000 miles on it now and 110,000 done by us.

Yes, it has a panoramic roof unfortunately. Would have preferred one without but was standard fit on the 4.8.

It’s broken, like most of them are so both motors are disconnected to save it jamming open, which is going to make it a bit awkward to open it to poke the drains!

Anyway, cleaned ...

That 1.3 Endura engine was fucking awful though  it was all noise, vibration and no power.

I think by that time it probably only cost Ford about 50p to make them, given that the same engine had been around for so long with a different name when they altered the fuelling.
