In some positive news, there’s a gen1 GT4 for sale on Boatshoes for less than £70k.
That's still over list price right?

Probably not once you factor in options.
Good to see a GTx not following the same speculators-delight pattern. Hopefully put some of them off.

I may have a chance on a build slot for a 718 spyder

"...so where on earth does Porsche go from there?" Knockhill
It sounds like the gearing is again a major flaw (again), it's like they've got a load of 'boxes from a cancelled Bluemotion eco version.

Has there ever been any explanation for the stupidly tall gearing?

In the comments someone says they asked Andreas Preuninger and he said it was because of emissions legislation (like the particulate filters, though I don't find the effect on the sound so annoying). While there is probably some truth to that, dulling it's responses compared to a 911 probably doesn't hurt either.

I think out of the two I’d opt for the Spyder this time round. I’m sure it’ll be relatively easy to make it sound a bit more fruity and there’s something about the rear of the GT4 which makes it look a little cheap in comparison to the predecessor. The Spyder on the other hand looks fantastic to me, like a mini Speedster.
The talk of the GT4 being softer doesn’t sound great.
In summary, do it Foz.

Other than the potential to make a quick buck- and get struck off the lists for ever more, I really need 4 seats!

Out of the two, I’d fancy the Spyder, but in all honesty I’d probably buy a Carrera T for the same money.
I still find it remarkable that they’ve developed this engine for this pair of vehicles. Others have suggested it’ll go in the 992 GT3 (revving to 9k+), or will appear in the next Coxster; surely either of these are feasible and help justify the R&D..
