I know it's got trouble written all over it in massive neon red letters, but THIS is very cheap.

Are we starting to see prices softening overall ?

(I hope so because this week I'm having a massive urge to buy a 360  )

Cars which have recorded damage usually have prices all over the place though.

The driver's side front wing to bumper gap is no where near as it left the factory as well.

How much is it ?

£45,450
The important bit is this

At approx. 9000 miles this GT3 was recorded on VCAR as a Category C Insurance Loss, damaged but repairable on 20th Jan 2010. The car has had an identity check carried out by VOSA and VIC PASS issued on 18th October 2013, the supplied HPI report documents this.

The GT3 was purchased by the owner of a bodyshop and the nearside front damage professionally repaired to a very high standard and used by him for many European Driving trips without fault.

For anyone who doesn't watch Porsche prices - this is about £20k cheaper than a nice one.

For the naive: is there a way of making sure (wonky panels aside) the chassis, frame, etc are in sound nick and aren't going to fold in two if you take a corner too hard?

The mileage of many ex-write-offs is amazingly low. Is that because they’ve sat around for years in their broken state or because they don’t drive very nicely? Neither would tempt me.

Been for sale for the best part of two years. First privately (£48k or thereabouts), then landed at this dealer, started off at £52k. :?

I’d always assumed they got a bit of a haircut while being repaired.

Same with anything that’s been imported, it’s easy to “lose” some of the history.

When I worked at a salvage yard cars could sit for years while insurance wrangles were fought over.

Actually, I can ! I sat in one a while ago. They have massively offset pedals though which feels quite weird. I guess you get used to it.

Could be worth emailing them to see if they have pictures of it after the repairs were done.

In all seriousness though, if it checks out mechanically it could be a great buy if you plan to track one lots and have no plans to sell it on quickly. You could get a better bodyshop to sort the front end alignment.

That seems like good value. If it was silver I might be getting twitchy ;)
