Cheers, Southern are one of the companies on the radar and also one my builder has used before and recommends which seems pretty important to me.

This is one he's just finishing off and I think these are from Southern.

Structure and appearance of the back of our kitchen should be similar. It's steel with alu cladding over the structure to match the alu doors.

Nice eames chair 8-)
I have one in exactly the same colour. They are a wonderful looking piece of furniture and comfy too.

I'd be very keen on one but we have two sofas in our living room so sadly there isn't space. Maybe I'll sneakily get rid of the smaller sofa when my wife isn't looking...

A chap needs his own comfy chair. The wife/daughter/dog have the sofas. The chair is mine!

Mine is a fake one, the real ones are obviously mega money. Though the fakes jumped up in cost a few years ago because of some copyright change - they used to be available around £300, now they’re all £500+.

There isn't a lot of tangible difference between them though is there? Most of the replicas (to be more charitable) I've seen looked indistinguishable from the Vitra Eames ones.

Mine too is an Eames "inspired" lounge chair & IIRC I got it in 2017 and it was £550ish with ottoman. It is a lovely thing and feels of very good quality. There are some quite shonky ones out there though.

Yeah, there’s a fair amount of variation - leg/foot detail & leather quality being the main differences. My brother has one too from another manufacturer, his one has a more authentic leg/foot than mine, but the leather on mine is nicer I think.

Just bumping this thread - I'm looking for a decent quality replica Eames office chair (EA 218) and thought I'd ask where you got yours from?

This place looks to sell decent ones but at nearly £600 the office chair (and £1,000 for one like yours) they aren't exactly cheap... https://www.swiveluk.com/uk/ea218-soft- ... ather.html

We'd bought some cheapo DSWs for the dining room but the quality was crap so I want to avoid being bitten twice.

Vertigo make some decent quality “inspired by” stuff - we have a few bits from them and I nearly bought one of their Eames arm chairs once. (Decided not to buy at all as opposed to buying another replica)
